Polaroid Pogo and the Scratch Art

We checked out the Polaroid Pogo and the Polaroid Photo Exhibit at the MegaMall this afternoon which features photo manipulation of the print-outs by Foto Baryo.

Yes, the Polaroid is not dead.

The Polaroid Pogo is a digital camera with a built-in printer. You can check your photos with the 3-inch LCD, edit and adjust the stills before hitting the print button. What you get is a full-color, 2×3-inch sticky-back photo in 3 minutes.

The Polaroid Pogo retails for Php9,995 in stores.

They also got this Polaroid PIC 300 Instant Camera, which looks like a toy, and uses the traditional film. Shoots business-card sized photos instantly. Can do manual exposure compensation but shutter speed is only 1/60secs. Has built-in flash too. Not sure if the price of Php2,995 is correct (it’s $90 in Amazon) but you’ll have to buy the Polaroid 300 Instant Film to go along with it.

Also discovered this nice Polaroid Manipulation Art they had on exhibit. What the photographers do is scratch the film using a blunt instrument (like a stylus or a pencil) during drying time (all in under 3 minutes). The scratch mixes up the colors of the ink to create the water-color effect.

Polaroid reps told me they’ll sent a unit over to raffle and give away to our readers here so watch out for that one too.
