After numerous reports from Samsung Galaxy S5 users, particularly those who are on Verizon and Sprint networks, the South Korean firm has acknowledged that some of their flagship handsets have been affected by a bug which permanently disables the smartphone’s 16-megapixel rear camera.
The folks over at XDA Developers have tried various troubleshooting steps to try to work their way around the error message (Warning: Camera Failed) including Resetting the phone using Recovery but to no avail.
But all is not lost. According to Samsung, impacted phones will be covered by the standard limited warranty and will be promptly replaced by the company or by the network provider.
Just to reiterate, the number of handsets impacted by the error is only minimal so it’s not something to lose sleep on. We know that it kinda suck to encounter a severe bug on a device that’s a barely a month old, but we’re just glad that Samsung is manning up about the problem.

I already experience this for a couple of times already and everytime I restart the unit nagiging ok naman na. Same din kaya ito ng case sa units in this report?
No. According to reports, the camera of affected units no longer works after getting the error. Lucky for you, the camera on your SGS5 comes back to life after reboot. But we think that you have to have that checked/serviced before it gets worse.
quantity over quality
samsung is not good with warranty specially in PH.. hays..
ayusan naman sana ng Samsung ang waranty nila.
Hindi naman yan problema ng mga nakabili ng S5 dito.
At the least Samsung is doing things right and not holding it wrong.
