December is fast approaching and it’s usually the month of the year when people have saved up for that handset purchase of the year. This season, 3 flagship handsets will vie for your hard-earned money — the Galaxy Note 2, Lumia 920 and the iPhone 5.
All three flagship smartphones happen to represent the best each mobile operating system can offer — Android, iOS and Windows Phone. We hope all three will land in the Philippines this December.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Announced in Berlin, Germany during IFA, the Galaxy Note 2 follows the same upgrade path as the Galaxy S3.
The Galaxy Note 2 boasts of a 5.5-inches Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution, quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB capacity, NFC, LTE and a 3100mAh battery. The Note 2 will run the latest Android OS which is Jellybean. Samsung is definitely banking on their superb hardware specs couple with Google’s Android ecosystem.
Estimated retail price — Php33k to Php36k (price based on SRP of Galaxy S3 and the SRP of Galaxy Note when it was launched in the Philippines).
Nokia Lumia 920. The Lumia 90 is Nokia’s first flagship smartphone running Windows Phone 8.
The Lumia 920 sports a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, dual-core Krait processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage, NFC, and LTE. This will be the first time we will see Windows Phone 8 on a more updated set of hardware. There’s also the PureView technology which we’ve seen on the Nokia 808 to be very impressive (it’s not exactly the same as the 808 though so we’ll have to test it again).
Estimated retail price — Php28k to Php30k (price is based on the SRP of the Lumia 900 when it was released in the Philippines).
Apple iPhone 5. Announced last week, the iPhone 5 added some incremental upgrades to the iPhone 4S.
This is the first time the iPhone got bigger, from 3.5-inch to 4.0 inches. It’s runs on an A6 chip, has 1GB RAM, 64GB storage and LTE. Apple is banking on its solid design and tight ecosystem to sell the iPhone 5.
Estimated retail price — Php34k to 38k (price is based on the prepaid kit price of Smart and Globe when they released the iPhone 4S last year).
Again, we hope that all three of these flagship devices will be released in the Philippines on or before the holiday season.

Base on the Stats, Nokia Lumia 920 is the most innovative smartphone among the three. And with that price? I don’t I’d consider any other.
Neither, I’ll go for Xperia Nexus
Lumia 920 ATT variant estimated at $499
and
Xiaomi Mi2
I will buy note 2 as my xmas gift for myself, iphone5 next may as bday gift and by that time price of it will be much lower.
note2 and s3 = laggy os and apps
lumia 920 = good but heavy
iphone 5 = FTW
It’s funny how people experience little lags once in a while and they consider the gadget generally laggy. Have you even used the Note II already?
I have an S2 and I experience VERY LITTLE lag once in a while. But I don’t mind. It doesn’t affect the apps anyway. Yes, in my experience I didn’t experience lags on my apps AT ALL. They do crash sometimes. And so does Apple apps.
i think what we mean by lag in android is that iOS and wp7.5 are so smooth that android, even on jellybean, looks so choppy.
kaya di na maalis ang lag=android.
sorry.
“…android, even on jellybean, looks so choppy.”
Looks? So that means you’ve just seen it?
WP7 doesn’t lag because it’s not graphic-heavy. iOS doesn’t lag because Apple is the only manufacturer of the iPhone so they can optimize it to the best performance possible but that’s doesn’t mean it won’t lag. Android, on the other hand, is made by different manufacturers, uses different materials, runs on different CPUs, GPUs displays, etc. so UI experience varies on the make. Even high-end PCs lag once in a while – and so do Macs.
And this is what I mean by Android lag.
Sorry, forgot the link.
And this is what I mean by Android lag. http://deuts.org/post/31641238493/this-is-what-i-mean-by-android-lag-scrolling
Im am currently typing at my galaxy nexus. So… :)
Yes, even on jelly bean it does lag, hirap nga magtype kasi ang bagal lumabas ng letter pag nagtatatype ako dito sa yugatech. Try mo.
Delay… while sa ip4, hindi at mabilis.
So whatever you say, android doeslag at hindi sa iphone. That is one ofthe reason ip5 ang pipipliin ko.
The Note 2.

yeah sure, dalhin mo ang ps3 kahit saan -_-
wag kayong bitter kung wala kayong games sa gusto nyong phone.
Haven’t heard of the PSP? You’re going to spend 30K+ just to play mobile games?
Ang hirap talaga kausapin ang mga haters..
Malamang im looking for an all in one device. Hindi lang games. Sheesh
None. I’ll wait for the Next Nexus.
definitely the iPhone5..
IP 5
LG Optimus G ftw!
I doubt that. So far, LG’s been all about pre-revelation hype. Their products don’t come out as outstanding as their teasers and advertisements.
Optimus G. is surely the winner for almost all categories.
great job LG!
