Which phone will get your hard-earned money this December?

December is fast approaching and it’s usually the month of the year when people have saved up for that handset purchase of the year. This season, 3 flagship handsets will vie for your hard-earned money — the Galaxy Note 2, Lumia 920 and the iPhone 5.

All three flagship smartphones happen to represent the best each mobile operating system can offer — Android, iOS and Windows Phone. We hope all three will land in the Philippines this December.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Announced in Berlin, Germany during IFA, the Galaxy Note 2 follows the same upgrade path as the Galaxy S3.

The Galaxy Note 2 boasts of a 5.5-inches Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution, quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB capacity, NFC, LTE and a 3100mAh battery. The Note 2 will run the latest Android OS which is Jellybean. Samsung is definitely banking on their superb hardware specs couple with Google’s Android ecosystem.

Estimated retail price — Php33k to Php36k (price based on SRP of Galaxy S3 and the SRP of Galaxy Note when it was launched in the Philippines).

Nokia Lumia 920. The Lumia 90 is Nokia’s first flagship smartphone running Windows Phone 8.

The Lumia 920 sports a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, dual-core Krait processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage, NFC, and LTE. This will be the first time we will see Windows Phone 8 on a more updated set of hardware. There’s also the PureView technology which we’ve seen on the Nokia 808 to be very impressive (it’s not exactly the same as the 808 though so we’ll have to test it again).

Estimated retail price — Php28k to Php30k (price is based on the SRP of the Lumia 900 when it was released in the Philippines).

Apple iPhone 5. Announced last week, the iPhone 5 added some incremental upgrades to the iPhone 4S.

This is the first time the iPhone got bigger, from 3.5-inch to 4.0 inches. It’s runs on an A6 chip, has 1GB RAM, 64GB storage and LTE. Apple is banking on its solid design and tight ecosystem to sell the iPhone 5.

Estimated retail price — Php34k to 38k (price is based on the prepaid kit price of Smart and Globe when they released the iPhone 4S last year).

Again, we hope that all three of these flagship devices will be released in the Philippines on or before the holiday season.

So, which one of these handset will take your hard-earned money? Go hit the comments to cast your votes.
