Here’s an interesting email debate between Jason Calacanis of WeblogsINC and Alan Meckler of JupiterMedia: Can Bloggers Make Money?
Both of them made great points but I tend to agree with Jason when he said you can’t make anything if you don’t try.
Not all journalists make a living out of writing for your local newspaper once a week. Not all singers get good-paying contracts (if they even do get one), not all bands make it big, and not all models make a hefty sum and live off of it by posing in front of the camera. Heck, not even half of all nursing graduates in this country get a decent job after graduation.
You won’t really get a living off of anything if you don’t try.
Amazing blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely confused .. Any suggestions? Bless you!
That’s very true.
