Cingular Wireless is going to offer Cingular’s customers Live Idol Ringtones of many of the songs performed by “American Idol” finalists hours after they are performed on the show.

Cingular customers will be able to purchase and download ringtones of cleared songs performed live on Tuesday night’s performance show the very next day. Typically, it can take months to go from recording to mobile distribution. With Live Idol Ringtones, InfoSpace is turning the performances into ringtones overnight. In fact, every Wednesday, each finalist will have a “new” ringtone available for purchase and download.

InfoSpace will be producing Live Idol Ringtones throughout the remainder of the current season.

Cingular provides three easy ways for customers to purchase Live Idol Ringtones:

1. Text “IDOL” to 8008 for a direct link to the latest finalist Live Idol Ringtones

2. Go to MEdia Net on your Cingular phone, choose Ringtones, and then “American Idol”

3. Go online to www.cingularsource.com/idol/tones

Live Idol Ringtones will be available nationwide for $2.49 per ringtone. As the weeks progress, customers will also be able to browse and buy Live Idol Ringtones from past performances. Additionally, customers can sign up for weekly text alerts that inform them when Live Idol Ringtones become available.

Now that the first Philippine Idol will be done here in the country, a lot of fan sites have emerged. While the official website of Pinoy Idol can be found at www.philippineidol.com, another chatroom site for fans can also be found at www.philippine-idol.com.

I am sure heads will roll as lawsuits will be thrown left and right to those domain owners which banked on the Philippine Idol brand.

A side note though, will they use the same sountrack and theme song for this one as well?

Over 30 thousand teenagers applied for the 3rd installment of Pinoy BigBrother which is dubbed, Teen Edition.

Only 12 of the 30,000 will be picked though. Of the lot eight, of the teen housemates are from Luzon and Metro Manila, one is from Cebu, and three are from the Visayas.

Just a few weeks after PBB Celebrity Edition, the new Pinoy BigBrother Teen Edition is up on April 27, 2006.

A teen version of PinoyBig Brother, tentatively as PinoyBigBrother :Teen Edition is in the works, to be shown in the Philippine “summer months” of April and May, when children and teenagers take their vacation from school. This edition will premiere on April 23, roughly three weeks after the end of the Celebrity Edition. It will feature teenagers aged from 16 to 18 years old as housemates.

Auditions in Cebu, Davao, and Metro Manila were held and 30,000 teens answered the audition call. Of these, twelve are selected; eight will come from the Manila editions while the remaining four will represent the VisMin area.

There has been growing demand for the new teleserye called Majika:

GMA 7 Telefantasya princess Angel Locsin leads the cast as Sabina, who becomes an orphan under mysterious circumstances. She is adopted by Eloida (Jean Garcia), a powerful benevolent salamangka. Eloida trains Sabina at a young age so she can enter Saladin. In Saladin, only male salamangkas can thrive. Unfortunately, Sabina must enter it to save her family. Along the way, she meets her one true love, Argo (Dennis Trillo).

News recently came out that Ryan Cayabyab willbe one of the 3 judges of the local version of American Idol.

Dubbed “Philippine Idol”, auditions will be help in Manila, Cebu and Davao in the following months. The Philippine Idol is set to premiere on ABC 5 this July 2006.
