First welcome to yet another one of my network of focus blogs. Why a ringtone blog? If you’re a Filipino then you’d easily guess the answer. For those not familiar with the Philippine mobile industry, you’d be amazed to hear that more than 1 out of every 3 Filipino has a cellphone.

For a country whose 80% of the population is below the poverty level, we still manage to get a phone (even if it’s just the antiquated 3210).

With mobile phones comes ringtones. In this blog we’ll be exploring the trends and intricacies of the ringtone craze and the telecommunications industry in the country.
