Are Mobile Operator Logos Obsolete?

Operator logos used to get the prime spot in mobile phones. About eight years ago, operator logos are selling hot like hotcakes and price range from Php10 to Php20 per logo.

Some people like me just buy an expensive RS232 serial cable so we could connect our cell phones to our PC and download the logos and ringtones all the time. One of my room mates back in college used to change his operator logo everyday. Those were the days when mobile phones are still balck and white (grayscale?).

Today, operator logos have been replaced by screen wallpapers and screensavers. Colored LCD phones could have spelled the doom for this feature.
