Relevance: 100%      Posted on: September 11, 2012

ASUS Philippines is set to launch two notebook PCs which will sport an ultrabook body but with a slight difference in configuration. The firm sent us one of the two which is the ASUS A46 SlimBook. Let's see how what this notebook is all about after the break. Design and Construction At a glance the ASUS A46 SlimBook, with its two-tone black and silver body and black Chiclet keys, can be mistaken as the latest MacBook Pro with Retina. Both of these machines have almost the same weight and dimension, with the MBP (358.9 x 247.1 x 18mm, 4.46lbs) only…

Relevance: 42%      Posted on: August 1, 2009

Asus finally made some nice external DVD writer to match their pretty netbooks and nettops -- the Asus SDRW-08D1S-U External DVD-RW Drive matches the finish of the Eee PC and the form factor of the Eee Box. This super-multi DVD burner can do almost any disk formats, except maybe Blu-ray. But that's just it -- an external DVD burner that should stylishly match any of your current Asus netbook. There's no more power cable, just the USB cable. There are 4 paddings on the bottom part, it also comes with a cradle so you can position it upright. Still have…

Asus fans have been asking for a touchscreen tablet netbook so they're gonna get one. Asus just unveiled the Eee PC T91 Touch Netbook due to be released on the first half of this year. The T91 will have an 8.9 inch touchscreen display and will be powered by an Intel Atom Z520 processor {photo via}. It will only be 2lbs (less than 1kg) light and 1-inch in thickness. Buyers will also have the option for built-in GPS and a TV tuner. Expect all other specs to be similar to the Eee PC 900/1000 series. All I can say is,…

Asus sent in one of their newest netbook accessories for review. They also included the Eee PC T91 tablet netbook to go along with it. See live shots after the break. The Asus Eee PC T91 is a tablet netbook with an 8.9" (1024x768 pxiels) touchscreen display. It's slim (1-inch) and light (2lbs) too. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz with 1 GB of RAM. It runs Windows XP and performs quite faster than what I'd normally expected for the specs. More on this tablet netbook later; I'll finish reviewing the accessory first.

Unboxing: Asus Eee PC

For a couple of months now that the Asus EeePC has been available in the local market, I haven't got the chance to get myself one. Either there's no available stock or the remaining lone unit is priced way more than the SRP. My only luck was with Asus Philippines lending me a review unit. Three visits to Mall of Asia, two at Park Square/Glorietta and another two visit at Virramall, Greenhills in the last 2 months and still nothing. The only store that had a unit left was selling it in excess of Php21,000 and I don't want to…

Relevance: 40%      Posted on: February 13, 2009

Got a package from Asus yesterday containing a box of motherboard and their new graphics card, the Asus ENGTX280, powered by NVidia's GTX280 graphics chip. Will all the other spare parts I have in storage, I should be able to build another rig with these (Asus M4A79T Deluxe Motherboard) although I'm still stuck with how to properly benchmark the video card. There's already a newer graphics chip from NVidia (GTX 285 and GTX295) but the GTX280 alone already costs over Php20,000 in the market. Here are some basic specs of the Asus ENGTX280: NVidia GeForce GTX280 Graphics Memory: 1024 MB…

The 12-incher Eee Pad (EP121) is the power powerful model but Asus is also showing the 10-inch model (EP101TC) with a much lower specs and runs Windows Embedded Compact 7. Expect the EP121 to work like your regular CULV ultraportable notebook (something similar to the Asus UL20) minus the keyboard and trackpad. However, there are options for a hybrid keyboard/docking station. Asus added that these Eee Pads should be able to bring in…
