USB-powered devices and battery packs come in all shapes and sizes, most are plain and generic-looking but if you're a Marvel fan, this one will surely grab your attention - a 10,400mAh-packing Thor hammer. This USB battery pack is modeled after Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir, and like the mythical weapon, this device also packs a wallop in terms of power. At 10,400mAh, it can charge your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 more than three times over. Cheap iPod battery replacement at CDR King

Relevance: 88%      Posted on: May 11, 2007

Was looking for DVI/HDMI cables and adaptors last night and I thought CDR King might have them. They didn't have them but I was surprised with the newer stock of gadget accessories they have -- iPod replacement batteries. And they're pretty cheap too -- prices starts at Php350 for the iPod Shuffle to Php400 for the newer generation iPod Videos. I also checked their website and they got it on display. The prices are so low they're almost as cheap as the other cellphone batteries along the sidewalks and half as much as generic batteries for my Canon dSLR. Now,…

Replacement iPhone Headsets

Relevance: 78%      Posted on: October 15, 2008

Having busted 3 of my 5 iPod headsets, I hesitated using the one that came with my iPhone 3G. It's like the regular ones since it got the mic control on the cord and I reckon they'd be pretty expensive to replace if ever I lost them or something. A backup or replacement would be nice to have and carry around instead of the originals. Elbert of My iPhone Headsets sent me a couple of these the other day. Tried them for about a day and works just like the originals. Audio quality over the headsets were fine, not great,…

Choiix Powerfort Portable Battery Pack

Relevance: 77%      Posted on: September 13, 2011

We're seen so many portable battery packs these days and they keep coming in different size, shape and power capacity. There's another one that's supposed to be released locally and comes from Choiix (part of the Cooler Master group). They sent me samples a couple of weeks ago and been using them with my portable devices everyday. They've got a couple of variants -- the 1500mAh entry-level and the 2700mAh travel kit. The 2700mAh variant, which comes with the travel kit, includes a car charger and USB-to-mini-USB connectors. There are no special adaptors included so expect to only be able…

Cupertino-based company Apple kicks off a replacement program for customers who have purchased 27-inch iMacs with faulty 3TB hard drives bought from 2012. Energizer XPal XP18000 Power Pack

Relevance: 67%      Posted on: August 8, 2010

When I bought that Energizer portable powerpack for my phone a couple of months back, I think I saw a much bigger one that's meant for laptops. Then last week, a rep from Energizer Philippines contacted me asking if I want to try one. So I picked the largest unit they had which is this XPal XP18000 Power Pack that's rate at 18,000mAh. I imagine my notebook's battery is only at 5,600mAh so that's like 3 times more capacity. I reckon it's possible to run my laptop for 24 straight hours using this battery pack. The portable battery pack also…

Chrome trumps Firefox on Google Pack

Relevance: 62%      Posted on: December 16, 2008

Google Chrome recently got promoted to version 1.0 and dropping the beta label. At the same time, it also got another promotion on Google Pack, pushing back FireFox down as the default web browser. The list on the new Google Pack has Chrome "checked" by default and FireFox "unchecked", displacing the latter in just less than 3 months after it was first revealed {via}. This isn't surprising and I've sort of expected this to happen (though not this soon). We even saw how FireFox ran to Yahoo! for some help. Google will not completely remove FireFox from Google Pack nor…
