Ozaki intros WoW 2.2 Dual Bass Speakers

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: November 17, 2008

During a press launch this afternoon, Taiwanese-based company Ozaki introduced the first dual bass speaker system in the Philippines. Their claim -- 2 subwoofers are better than one. Not to be mistaken as the videoke brand, Ozaki's WoW 2.2 or "Woofer of Woofer" consists of the left and right sound channel satellite speakers and the double power subwoofer (one sub has two bass drivers). There were several other speakers in the line-up but these were the ones that got my attention. The WoW series speaker are mostly made out of wood for better sound quality and are rated between 40…

The “Ozaki Nuke 28” Review

Relevance: 59%      Posted on: June 7, 2005

After installing the new WP-ShortStat plugin, I noticed several Google search results pointing back to my blog about an item in my Digital Wish List, the Ozaki Nuke28. I thought I'd share my first hand experience with everyone about it. Well, after weeks of searching for the 5.1 speakers, I finally found a set on stock at Villman, Makati Cinema Square. I asked the technician to open the box and test the speakers for me so I can check it for audio quality. The technician hesitated, asking if I were to buy it before he opens the box, but I…

iPill: the iPod Mic

Relevance: 48%      Posted on: July 28, 2009

Not sure if I've seen this before but Ozaki is shipping a ton of these iPills to the Philippines this August. The iPill is a microphone accessory for the iPod Nano (4th Gen) and the iPod Touch (2nd Gen). It has a capsule-like shape, with one half is the protective cover and the other half is the 3.5mm jack. Ozaki promises better audio recording quality but that remains to be seen. They don't have SRP yet (will update when these arrives in August).

Why not an audio comp?

Have been contemplating on an possible audio setup for my living room. Well, I did consider the Ozaki Nuke 28, then followed up thrice with a twin 100 watts rms Wharfdale speakers. Never did I imagine I would end up with a compact JVC component instead (picture below). Packs a punch at 4,200 watts PMPO, with a 235-watt subz, 2 x 80-watt side speakers, a front speaker and 2 rear speakers. Not yet fully rigged around the sala but we tested it Friday evening for an overnight videoke session at home with a couple officemates.

5.1 Speakers for the budget-conscious.

Ozaki Nuke28 EM928 - 5.1 Channel Speaker System This is probably one of the most cost-effective 5.1 speakers I found from local stores. It sports a total of 55 watts (rms) power with a wooden sub-woofer for a more hollow and full bass. This is best for rooms at about 8 square meters or less but can still belch out good quality sound for areas up to 15 square meters. And for only Php2,795.00 (SRP), you're getting the better end of the bargain.

Poll: Which audio speakers do you use?

Relevance: 18%      Posted on: March 22, 2010

I bought my current audio speakers in 2002 and haven't really replaced it. Was wondering if this is one of those gadgets that are rarely replaced. I thought we should do a poll about it. There are portable speakers, PC speakers, and the sound system in the living room. Among those you're currently using, which audio speakers do you most often use? Altec Lansing Creative Logitech Bose Samsung LG Sony JBL JVC Bang & Olufsen Onkyo Ozaki X-Mini Edifier Klipsch Harman Kardon Nextbase Konzert Actually, there's too many I can't name them all. While, I have the poll on the…
