Through an announcement made earlier today, the Katsuhiro Harada has made it official that the popular fighting game will indeed have three new characters which include a Filipina kickboxer named Josie Rizal. According to the game publisher, Josie was designed by Mari Shimazaki with additional insights from Mark “Markman” Julio of Mad Catz which is a Filipino by blood. Mark was responsible for some of the aspects of Josie Rizal including her fighting technique (Eskrima) and her name which is a…

One of the readers then pointed out that what she was wearing along with her necklace, seems to be taking its design cues from out national flag. Check out the full costume. i.PH service is now Free

Relevance: 55%      Posted on: August 31, 2005

(From J Spot) Did I hear that right? i.PH, the local blog service is now offering their uber-cool blogging tool for free. Well, it's about time, though it should have been done earlier this year (to get a head start). In this day and age that almost anything and everything can be had from the internet is free, a paid service that does not have a very compeling and unique offering will someday become either obsolete or turn to the free service model. Blogger is free. WordPress.com is also free and will soon take a (huge) bite at TypePad's market.…

Free Gadget Magazines: Do they work?

Relevance: 55%      Posted on: August 2, 2009

The Mobile Philippines magazine has been offering subscriptions for free in the last 8 months (at least) and I only found about it today. I'm not really into magazines lately although I still have that 12-issue subscription from Digital Photographer. Went around Virra Mall this afternoon to get me a new kick-ass PC case (that's for the PCLabs) when I saw copies of Mobile Philippines being given out for free. It's a good move I think since the focus is getting as many readers as possible and make money off print advertising. It's pretty to sell magazines if they're free,…

However, since last week, Globe has been sending text messages to their subscribers that the Free Facebook service will expire in April 30. The service was initially for only 3 months and was then extended for…

Free Fonts Galore

Surprisingly, I got another request from ReviewMe yesterday after rejecting the old one. So here goes my quick review about UrbanFonts.com: At first, when I read the request and saw it was one about free fonts, I wondered why something being offered free needs to spend so much for this exposure. Since it's a new site/service, I guess, the value it gets in terms of exposure and long term brand recognition is worth it. But when I saw the site, browsed around and download several nice fonts & dingbats I found, I though the service will speak for itself. I…
