Ford Fiesta goes online: Grab one on Facebook

Ford Philippines gave members of the media a sneak preview of the of their new Ford Fiesta last night -- and everybody went home with a brand new Ford Fiesta too. They got the new car wrapped inside a big toy box so we can't really get a closer look and take proper photos. I had to literally put the camera lens smack into the plastic box to get a good focus. It was also a bit dark so we can't make good use of our camera flash either. I thought I'd go home with lousy photos until they gave…

Photo Project: Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Just woke up from deep slumber. We all came home back from the 11th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at Clark in Pampanga in the afternoon after a long drive and no sleep from the other night. An old officemate and her friends tagging along after they read about the trip over at Pinoy.Travel.Blog. From left: Markku, Jobarclix, Sasha, Marc, Gail, Jayvee, me, Alet, Trisha, Minnie (Rico, missing in picture) Experimenting with red/orange filters. Didn't get any good pictures, partly because I was too busy cleaning off that dirt off of the lens (or was it the sensor? *waahhh*)

Voice Control on the Ford Fiesta

Ford Philippines finally launched the Ford Fiesta in the country yesterday and one of their PR reps asked me to check out the Voice Control on the Sport model of the Fiesta. At first I thought this was the Ford Sync they've already introduced in the US and other countries but turns out it's a more simplified version (they just call it Voice Control). Voice Control allows you to control and tune the FM radio, an iPod, a USB drive with mp3 music, and a mobile phone connected via Bluetooth. A small unidirectional microphone picks up all the voice commands…

Lunch break with the Ford Fiesta

Folks over at Ford Philippines invited us over for lunch in Tagaytay the other day and they gave each one of us a Ford Fiesta S to drive. I've test-driven the Fiesta before (the Manual variant) and I was pleased with how light and easy it was at city driving. So when we were all given the Fiesta Sport, I expected the same if not better. The climb up to Tagaytay was quick and easy (used the Mamplasan exit to avoid traffic in Sta Rosa). I drove the red/orange variant, which is a 1.6L AT. The blue one with a…

Why Ford Fiesta’s 1.0L EcoBoost is not Your Average 1-Liter Engine

Relevance: 66%      Posted on: November 23, 2014

We were recently loaned by Ford its 2014 Fiesta Sport+ 1.0L EcoBoost. The award-winning sub-compact is a 5-door hatchback that runs on a 3-cylinder engine (yup, just three cylinders). Don’t be fooled by the numbers, though, as it pumps out 125PS of power and 170Nm of torque. Read on and find out why this International Engine of the Year victor isn't your ordinary 1-liter engine. On paper, the Fiesta’s 1.0-liter engine is around the same displacement as the Kia Picanto or the Suzuki Celerio (both at the Php500K mark). What gives the Fiesta an edge over these two is its…
