Cignal hits Half a Million Subscribers

Satelite TV provider, Cignal, has just reached a total subscriber base of 500,000 nationwide. The subscription-based Direct-To-Home (DTH) TV provider has been around since 2009. Cignal was among the first subscription-based TV services utilizing satellite delivery. The service is even more popular in areas (especially remote locations) where traditional cable TV cannot access. Cignal Digital TV uses the DVB-S2 digital television broadcast standard to accommodate both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) TV broadcasts. Cignal Digital TV to offer HDTV

Cignal Digital TV is a new service provided by MediaQuest (same company who introduced Smart myTV in the Philippines) is set to offer hi-def TV this coming June. According to PhilStar, Cignal TV was launched last February 2009. It will directly compete with Dream Satellite TV. I got this DVD installer in the mail last week for PLDT WatchPad. Been seeing the ads as well on TV lately and was wondering if this is a free or paid service from PLDT to all its myDSL subscribers. Are there other PLDT myDSL subscribers getting their DVD installers in the mail too? I read that this is available if you subscribe to myDSL Plan 999, 1995 and 3000.
