Is your blog .mobi ready?

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 24, 2007

I had a long discussion with someone from one of the big telcos on the possibility of adding blogs to their mobile portal. They wanted to check out more local blogs to add to their listing. The only initial requirement is that the blog should be mobile ready (either WAP capable or .mobi ready). At first, I thought it was just for the blogs I own or help run but I broached the idea that we should widen the coverage and include others I know well that have a good following, consistently updated with a specific niche. So the search…

Remember the photo that was posted by CD-R King's Facebook page featuring Google Glass? Well, bad news folks. Sorry to say but the excitement idea of having Google Glass through CD-R King is nothing but fake. The alleged teaser has been removed and disowned by CD-R King's Facebook page. Here is their statement embedded below: (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); = id; js.src = "//"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by CD-R King, Your One-stop Media Provider! Does CDR-King have a reputation problem?

Relevance: 68%      Posted on: May 16, 2011

My last entry about CDR-King sparked a heated debate among readers. It's got to do with the fact that the company, which is well-known for cheap accessories and thing-a-ma-jigs, are now going into big-ticket items such as laptops, cameras, tablets and even windmills! CDR-King started out selling blank CDs -- where other stores were selling branded CDs between Php25 to Php100 a piece, CDR-King was able to sell un-branded ones to just Php5 to Php8 a pop. The company expanded aggressively despite not going into the franchising business (apparently, all of the outlets are company owned). The psychology behind the…

CD-R King has its own affordable Segway

Relevance: 64%      Posted on: April 6, 2015

CD-R King is known to make tech accessories and gadgets affordable such as the Action Cam launched last December, and it looks like the local tech retail giant isn't stopping at any point as it also introduced the California Malibu, its own affordable version of the segway. For those who are not familiar with this, a segway is a two-wheeled, self-balancing electric vehicle designed to transport a single person, hence it is mostly used in the country by security personnel on spacious, mid- to high-end malls. The California Malibu is said to offer the same experience at a lower cost. With that…

CD-R King to offer Google Glass?

Relevance: 64%      Posted on: May 11, 2014

CD-R King, one of the largest media providers in the country, may possibly make the Google Glass available locally, or at least that’s what they’re hinting at on one of the recent post they’ve made on their official Facebook page. The company has not given any concrete details about the device, when it’s going to be available, and how much they’re planning to retail it once it does hit the shelves. However, they did promise that they’ll provide more information about it soon. Another thing that’s not clear here is whether or not they’ll bring in the real deal or…

Facebook blocks Burger King App

Relevance: 59%      Posted on: January 19, 2009

A Facebook app called The Whooper Sacrifice was built by Burger King to promote the fast-food chain's burgers on the social networking website. Apparently, despite its popularity, Facebook didn't liked the app and was shut down eventually. Burger King's pitch -- drop ten (10) of your Facebook friends and get a free Whooper.  You can only get one free Whooper so even if you dropped 50 friends, you still get one burger. What would you do for a free WHOPPER? Would you insult an elected official? Would you do a naked handstand? Would you go so far as to turn…
