90 day Limit on AdSense Referrals

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: January 31, 2006

I didn't notice that Google AdSense has quietly updated their AdSense Referral program with a 90 day limit. Usually, whenever Google updates or changes their program policy, you'd get a notice of it the next time you login to your AdSense account. This is what you'll see at the bottom of your AdSense referral code page. An AdSense referral is counted when a publisher, who has never previously enrolled in AdSense, creates an account and earns at least $100.00 within 90 days of sign-up. The referred publisher must be eligible for payment to qualify as a successful referral. AdSense publishers…

Update: Smart’s per Minute Rate for Mobile 3G

Relevance: 85%      Posted on: February 4, 2011

So I got an email from one of the engineers (Technical Services Division) of Smart wanting to clarify/correct my previous entry regarding the Php1 per minute rates Smart is offering. I am told that the 1 peso per minute rate is an option available for users who have prepaid load of less than Php10. This is to help users maximize their remaining load credits. However, there another set of per minute charging which is available to all prepaid users as another option. Here's the screenshot of the complete offerings taken from Smart WebConnect. So that's Php60 for 3 hours (180…

MRT-3 speed limit down from 60kph to 40kph

Relevance: 80%      Posted on: August 22, 2014

After the unfortunate incident that injured 30 passengers, the MRT-3 Yellow Line management is now implementing a slower speed limit for the current rolling stocks. The new speed limit is now down to 40 kph from the previous maximum speed of 60 kph. This new scheme is already implemented and and will gradually increase the travel time from both end stations by 7 to 10 minutes. Aside from the longer travel time, the slower run of trains will cause longer queues. We also have to consider that MRT-3 now has lesser trains due to poor maintenance and frequent mishaps. In…

Twitter removing 140-character limit from DMs

Relevance: 75%      Posted on: June 12, 2015

In an attempt to improve its Direct Messages feature, Twitter today announces that it will be removing its 140-character limit when sending private messages. The company encourages users to take the following actions to make the update as seamless as possible: Review the new API additions below. Update your GET requests so you will be able to receive the full length of DM text. Adjust your app UI to accommodate longer DM text. Although the update won't take effect until Twitter launches it this July, they are recommending to test the above procedure in advance. Meanwhile, public tweets still remain to…

Last minute shopping at Changi Airport

Relevance: 71%      Posted on: December 8, 2006

Yup, I'm homeward bound. Just got off a one hour plane trip from Jakarta and we're hanging out shopping at the Changi Airport in Singapore. This is prolly one of the nicest airports I've ever been and shops are all over! It's also the first airport that has free wifi everywhere, which allowed me to do some email checking and a little blogging. They also have PC terminals where passengers can use to surf the net or play games though the sign says to limit usage at 15 minutes per person. We won't be boarding until around 6PM so we…

Smart to PLDT Landline Piso-per-minute

Relevance: 69%      Posted on: January 18, 2006

Just saw an advertisement on TV (that Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino tandem again) about the new Smart call pricing at Php10 per 10 minutes. That's basically php1 per minute of call time. I think it used to be Php8 plus toll charges. This went out as PLDT came out with a regular rate of Php10 per call for all NDD (National Direct Dialing) connections, the same time that Smart is rabidly pushing for their 3iG services. On top of that, the recent PLDT promo of Php840 fixed MSF for a bundled PLDT line and unlimited PLDT Vibe connection is…

It's already December this week and everyone is feeling the Christmas rush already. If you have not yet started shopping for gifts this Christmas, it could get really busy and confusing especially if you have dozens of gifts in mind and have very little time to go around and prepare them. If you're short on time you could probably just shop online and wrap all the gifts yourself. That's if you already have all the gift ideas in mind and you can all source them online. However, if you only have one week-end to spare, you might be better of…

CAAP looking to limit the use of Drones in PH

Relevance: 55%      Posted on: August 1, 2014

In line with the growing popularity of drones in the country, CAAP has recently released a new memorandum that will regulate the use of Drones, or what the agency considers as an Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles or UAVs. Under the memorandum, drone users will have to secure any of three required certifications (seen below) from CAAP in order fly their drones. • Flight crew license with a command instrument training. • Military qualification equivalent to a license • Air traffic control license. As if that’s not hard enough, the new memorandum also mandates that UAV controllers must provide CAAP with a

Smart to PLDT Value Calls only Php4 per minute

Relevance: 52%      Posted on: September 19, 2005

I was on my mobile phone with another potential client for about 15 minutes then I checked my load balance to see how much credit I still have left. I was a bit surprised to see that my last call didn't even reach Php100. Just now, I got an SMS alert from Smart that they have this Value Calls Promo where your call from a Smart cellphone to a PLDT landline will only be Php9 for the first 9 minutes and then it's Php4 per succeeding minutes. Looks like a bargain to me. And good nes to those who're always…
