Ainol Novo 7 Crystal puts Jellybean, IPS for cheap

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: September 8, 2012

Ainol tablets have become very popular in recent years because they're usually the very first ones to bring our tablets running the latest Android OS. They were the first to ship ICS on a tablet and it looks like they're doing the same with Jellybean. We've reviewed the Aurora and the Paladin before but the Crystal looked much better. The Ainol Novo 7 Crystal is looking to compete with the Nexus 7 - it runs a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, IPS LCD display (1024x600 pixels) with Android 4.1 Jellybean. The price tag -- just $139 in their online store.…

Cherry Mobile taps Ainol for cheap ICS tablets

Relevance: 97%      Posted on: May 26, 2012

A number of readers have pointed out to me last week that Cherry Mobile is already selling what could be a co-branded Ainol Paladin tablet so I confirmed it with the folks from CM if this as indeed true. We posted our review of the Ainol Paladin here back in January which was a huge hit for being the first ICS-powered tablet in the Philippines. That, plus the fact that it was really very affordable at Php5,800. Cherry Mobile's official statement was that "Ainol is an exclusive ODM Partner" (Official Device Manufacturer). This means CM can actually carry any or…

OF all the new devices we spotted this evening at SM Cyberzone, one of the most tempting one would be this 7-inch Ainol Novo 7 Venus tablet that runs on Jellybean and a quad-core processor. We've tried and review the previous Ainol Paladin and Aurora so we know the tablet line is pretty solid and really affordable. Ainol Novo 7 Venus specs: 7-inch IPS LCD 720p HD display @ 1280x800 pixels ATM7029 ARM Cortex A9 1.5GHz quad-core 1GB DDR3 RAM 16GB internal storage up to 32GB via microSD WiFi 802.11 b/g/n 2MP rear camera 0.3MP front-facing camera Li-IOn 4,000mAh battery…

Ainol Novo 7 Flame lands with Php9,999 price tag

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: September 29, 2012

Ainol keeps of churning out more 7-inch tablets. The latest one we spotted is the Ainol Novo 7 Flame which sells locally for about Php9,999. The Novo 7 Flame comes with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM and a 7-inch HD 720p IPS LCD display. The Novo7 Flame is similar to the $139 Novo 7 Crystal we posted earlier this month but that one does not have the HD display resolution of the flame. Ainol Novo 7 Flame specs: 7-inch IPS display @ 1280x800 pixel AMLogic AML8726-M6 1.5GHz dual-core Mali 400 dual-core GPU 1GB DDR3 16GB internal storage WiFi 802.11…

Ainol Novo 7 Paladin Review

Relevance: 82%      Posted on: January 24, 2012

A 7-inch Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet for under Php6,000 sounds too good to be true by the Ainol Novo 7 Paladin has landed and is now the cheapest Android ICS tablet in the market. Check out our full review after the jump. Ainol is almost an unheard of tablet brand in the Philippines but in some markets (like China), they're doing really well by introducing affordable yet first-to-market devices. The Novo 7 Paladin is one of them, probably the first and only Android ICS tablet in the local market right now. Android Ice Cream Sandwich provides a strong…

Ainol Novo 7 Aurora Review

Relevance: 66%      Posted on: May 6, 2012

We did a review of the Aurora's sibling a couple of months ago, the Ainol Paladin and that got a lot of attention for being the first one to have ICS pre-installed out of the box. Not to mention the really affordable price. The Ainol Aurora brings this up a notch by offering a sleeker design and better hardware configuration. Check out our full review of the Ainol Novo 7 Aurora after the jump. 7-inch tablets are a blessing. They’re big enough for large screen internet browsing, gaming, and movie playback, but small and light enough to be carried inside…

This is what Samsung wants you to replace the microSD card with

Relevance: 65%      Posted on: August 17, 2015

A week before the official launch of the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+, we were given a special exclusive preview of the two devices (we had to sign an NDA before we can see it). The first feedback I gave to the Samsung executives was that Note fans would be disappointed with the non-removable battery and the absence of the microSD card. They replied that the 90-minute fast charging would address the issue on the non-removable battery. As for the lack of microSD card support, they pointed me to the dual-USB drive. Incidentally, we have been using…

Getting a credit card without applying for one?

Relevance: 62%      Posted on: November 2, 2006

I've been on and off the phone with one of my credit card reps and they've been calling me for overdue payments since 3 weeks ago. So, ok, sometimes when I'm too harassed I forget which card I paid online so it has happened on several occasion that I double pay (there was one time I paid Citibank 20k for a Php600 bill) some cards and not pay another card. But this one is a little strange to me -- I got a replacement card for an old Metrobank Value credit card. Then a week later, I also got another…

Budget Moto G 4G with LTE and microSD slot announced

Relevance: 61%      Posted on: May 15, 2014

We all remember the Motorola Moto G that caught the eyes of consumers with its features, performance, and affordability. People liked it, only it lacked LTE connectivity and expandable memory which were deal-breakers for many. Fortunately, the newly-announced Moto G 4G now carries LTE and microSD slot for bigger storage. It also comes with an affordable price tag just like its previous model. Not much has been changed in terms of its specifications. LTE support and memory expansion thru microSD are the two main upgrades, while a dual-SIM variant is still undisclosed as of now. Motorola Moto G 4G specs:…
