T-Mobile G1 Android Phone in the Flesh

Relevance: 90%      Posted on: November 18, 2008

Managed to "borrow" one of the recently released T-Mobile G1 (a.k.a. Google Android Phone) and cooking up a full review. For the meantime, let me share some photos. The Google Phone is one of the oddest phone I've ever seen in terms of design and form factor. Even the mechanism for flipping out the keyboard is a bit unconventional. Took several shots of the phone together with the Nokia E71, iPhone 3G and Xperia X1 for some visual comparison. The G1 is indeed huge and bulky. Will be done with my review before the week ends so watch out for…

China Phone + Google Android

Relevance: 83%      Posted on: January 16, 2010

Imagine one of the best and free mobile OS installed on the cheapest phones in the market? Yeah, those cheap knock-off phones from China could probably one days come with an Android OS. I realized there's nothing in this world these Chinese factories cannot make so why not a cheap phone with Android OS in them? It doesn't need to be touchscreen but the basic specs that we're seeing in the gray market will do: Dual Active SIM, QWERTY keyboard, WiFI, 3G, a TV Tuner, 256MB internal storage for Android App and up to 8GB microSD Card. If they can…

T-Mobile today unveiled the G1, the HTC Dream phone based on the Google Android platform. It's basically an HTC phone so T-Mobile's $179 + 2 year contract price may hint of a possible unlock price when it goes global. First things first though, the actual specs of the T-Mobile G1 phone: - 3.2 inch touch screen (480x320 pixel resolution) - 3G/HSDPA - 2GB internal storage (up to 8GB via microSD) - GPS - 3MP camera - WiFi 802.11 b/g - qwerty keyboard What's still unsure is the actual price of the handset once it ships out to other regions but…

I didn't expect local PC manufacturer, Redfox Technologies, to enter into the mobile market but it looks like they did -- with this WizPhone Android phone spotted on their website. Not much is revealed about the specs of the WizPhone but the website indicates it will come pre-installed with Android 2.0. I sent a quick email to them asking for details about this upcoming phone so will be updating this entry once I get them.
