Imation LINK Power Drive Power Bank/Flash Drive Quick Review

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: April 1, 2015

Let's admiit: iPhones don't exactly boast a long-lasting battery life. I personally couldn't survive a day solely on my iPhone 5's battery that's why I always bring a power bank with me. At the same time, I'm only rocking the 16GB variant so internal storage is a bit scarce. This is what the Imation LINK Power Drive aims to solve as it carries a 3000mAh battery and at the same time a 32GB flash drive for additional storage.  The LINK definitely looks like an ordinary power bank -- with its square form factor, thick sides, and a button on its face…

LUV Power Land All-in-One AC Power Charger

Relevance: 98%      Posted on: January 20, 2013

There are so many portable batteries for smartphones and tablets out there but this is the first time we've actually seen one that incorporates an AC wall charger right into the body. The LUV Power Land has just that feature. One of the more common scenarios with the normal portable batteries is that we keep on forgetting to recharge it once in a while. On occasion, I would find myself with a couple of drained up batteries on a trip. What the LUV Power Land hopes to achieve is skip the part where you forget to re-charge the batteries because…

iPhone Elite: What the iPhone should have been?

Relevance: 97%      Posted on: December 30, 2008

This is what the original iPhone should looked like if Apple decided to include a slide-out qwerty keyboard instead of just purely touchscreen. Mat Brady added and Photoshoped the refinements then emailed Steve Jobs. What's added aside from the qwerty keyboard the slides horizontally from the side is a Carl Zeiss camera lens (3.2MP would do) placed somewhere near the center and has some optical zoom (2 or 3x I guess). Of course, this concept design would mean you get a much thicker iPhone and even pricier too. I think it's doable and people would still buy it. I don't…

Facebook rolls out App Center

Relevance: 97%      Posted on: August 2, 2012

You might have noticed that nagging notification on Facebook all day yesterday. Well, it seems like Facebook has just rolled out the App Center. Both desktop and mobile apps are now available in the App Center. This new feature used to be available in the US (and a few more countries) since June but is now rolled out to other countries (internationally) such as the Philippines. The App Center is probably Facebook's way to get more people to use and stay on Facebook, both on their PC as well as their mobile phones. Remember that in the early days of…

iPhone 5 vs. iPhone 5C vs. iPhone 5S, spot the difference

Relevance: 96%      Posted on: September 11, 2013

For the first time in years, Apple has announced two design variants of the iPhone -- the colorful iPhone 5C and the aluminum-clad iPhone 5S. We'll break them down to you so you'd easily spot the difference. In this table, we compare the iPhone 5 vs. the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S. If you will notice, the iPhone 5C is basically the same as the iPhone 5 but with a colored polycarbonate body, heavier weight and thicker dimensions (8.97mm vs. 7.6mm). The iPhone 5S has the same body construction but different color and slightly better hardware as indicated in…

Buffalo 4-Port High-Power USB Charger

Relevance: 93%      Posted on: January 13, 2011

This nice little gadget is one of those little stuff I got from my recent trip to Japan. It's a 4-port high-power USB charger (apparently Buffalo is a huge brand in Japan and always getting front row placement in the mall shelves). I always bring a lot of devices with me when I travel and along with them, a bunch of chargers as well -- one for the HD7, one for the iPhone 4 & the iPad, one for the Huawei E5 and the Energizer/Mili portable battery. To make things more complicated, some hotel rooms I stay have very limited…

iPhone 2.0 Software & iTunes App Store

Relevance: 90%      Posted on: July 13, 2008

Together with the launch of the iPhone 3G, Apple also released the iPhone 2.0 Software for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Though it's a free upgrade for iPhone users, there's a $9.95 price for iPod Touch owners. So I forked out the $9.95 to see what this update and the App Store is all about. You will need the new iTunes 7.7 in order to download and install the iPhone 2.0 Software Update which is over 200MB. Your iPhone/Ipod Touch will be restored to factory settings when the new software updates. After your unit is reset, the additional are…

Obama and the Call Center Industry

Relevance: 90%      Posted on: November 17, 2008

Since the election of Barack Obama as the next President of the United States, much talk has been going around about his policies and stand on outsourcing among call center employees. My discussions with several people working in the BPO and contact center companies have been mixed. I think he might have been misunderstood in his statements where he said he's going to take some of the outsource jobs back to America. What Obama might do is give some tax breaks or tax incentives for companies if they retain employees in the US. That way, US companies might be persuaded…

Facebook to launch App Center

Relevance: 89%      Posted on: May 10, 2012

Facebook has just announced that it will be launching its own app store called the App Center, “a new place for people to find social apps,” as well as to give developers “an additional way to grow their apps and creates opportunities for more types of apps to be successful.” This will showcase quality apps that use Facebook logins and will be available on the web, as well as in iOS and Android Facebook apps in the coming weeks. The App Center, however, will not directly compete with app market leaders such as Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store…
