Cheap iPod battery replacement at CDR King

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: May 11, 2007

Was looking for DVI/HDMI cables and adaptors last night and I thought CDR King might have them. They didn't have them but I was surprised with the newer stock of gadget accessories they have -- iPod replacement batteries. And they're pretty cheap too -- prices starts at Php350 for the iPod Shuffle to Php400 for the newer generation iPod Videos. I also checked their website and they got it on display. The prices are so low they're almost as cheap as the other cellphone batteries along the sidewalks and half as much as generic batteries for my Canon dSLR. Now,…

Relevance: 90%      Posted on: February 22, 2008

According to a report, a group of hackers at the Black Hat conference in Washington D.C. claim that they're able to hack GSM calls with equipment costing about $1,000. Until now, wiretapping over a GSM network is an expensive operation that only the military and the intelligence divisions have the money to do so. With that "Crying Baby" videos on YouTube about Jun Lozada and Joey de Venecia, looks like everybody with $1,000 cash will soon be able to afford to wiretap anyone. Technology will always catch-up but people can always avoid it. Problem with people like Gloria/Garcillano and the…

A cheap Mac-like keyboard

Relevance: 82%      Posted on: May 25, 2009

Compact, slim and chiclet keys -- this China-made computer keyboard reminded me of Apple Mac's signature silver-white keyboards. So I took home one and see if it's any better than regular ones. It's not as classy and slim as the ones sold by Apple but I bet this one comes from the same factory in China (*jk*). Comes with a silicon cover too so it's spill-proof and dust-proof. I'm not so sure though if the Php850 price tag is really cheap.

Along Arnaiz Road (formerly pasay Road), at the corner of Evangelista St., in Bangkal, Makati there is this small Japanese resto run by a Filipino family of five. The place is called Oyagi (informal Japanese term for father). They got one of the best Katsudon rice toppings I have ever tasted, and it only costs Php50 a meal. If you happen to pass by the area, visit the place and you'll see what I mean.
