Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens

After mulling over that busted Canon EF 17-85mm lens, I thought it might be a sign to go buy a new walk-around lens (perhaps an L lens) but I ended up getting a macro lens instead (Canon EF 100mm).

Last week-end, while using my year-old Canon 40D, I encountered several Error 01 and the screen displays “Communications between the camera and the screen is faulty. Clean the lens contacts.”
