The Brian Gorrell Story on Media in Focus

Since the Brian Gorrell blog has emerged a couple weeks ago, I tried to steer away from it because of its libelous nature. Obviously, tens of thousands of people are visiting this Australian guy’s blog about his Filipino ex-lover and the $70,000 money the latter owed him that it has gotten him much attention from the press. This evening, we taped the panel discussion at ANC’s Media in Focus discussing the social and legal ramifications of this phenomenon.

Marc and I were shopping for some suit last week in anticipation of next month’s SEMCON 2007 and Aaron Wall’s wedding with his would-be Filipina wife. While discussing details of the conference, I told him that he should be blamed for locally popularizing loaded terms such as link juice, link love and link bait. He replied, “that’s why I don’t blog anymore!”, or something along those lines.

Smart launches myTV

Just came back from the official launch of Smart myTV, the new mobile TV service in partnership with 360media (and MediaQuest). They designed the NBC Tent at the Fort with picturesque booths representing situations/locations where myTV could be enjoyed — on the beach, the golf course, at the bus stop, coffee shop, living room, and inside the car (which I think is a potential road hazard).

DTourLast night, tech TV show Digital Tour on Studio 23 aired its last episode according to Rain. ABS CBN’s dedicated forums for the show did not contain any updates as to why the show was junked not does their official section page on the network’s website.
