Samsung L77: A slim 7.1MP Digital Camera

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: December 4, 2007

Got the chance to check out this new point-and-shot camera by Samsung. The L77 might look slim and simple but it packs some nice features within its class. At 7.1 megapixel with 7x optical zoom (non-extending), this is the slimmest digital camera Samsung has ever released. Not a big deal but to some, size does matter (I mean, the smaller the better). However, the small size has its obvious drawback. The battery is also smaller and stores less power. I reckon it can only carry half as much juice compared to competing cameras in the same line. And while others…

Relevance: 97%      Posted on: March 2, 2012

We’ve started the talks since early last year and have recently founded a new group or association of digital commerce players in the Philippines. This new non-profit, non-stock organization is formally called the DCOM (or Digital Commerce Association of the Philippines). The organizaton is composed of key players in the Philippines, both companies and individuals, who are involved in eCommerce in the country. As a matter of disclosure, YugaTech & YugaDeals are founding members of the association. The goal of the association is simple — promote and advocate e-commerce in the Philippines. • Establishing standards and best practices for a…

Samsung IT100 Digital Compact Camera

Relevance: 85%      Posted on: September 26, 2009

I've had this digital compact camera from Samsung since June but forgot to publish a review. It was just good timing since today I got to use the HD recording capabilities of the Samsung IT100 and posted it on YouTube. The Samsung IT100 is mostly made up of stainless steel with a metal plating for a solid look that's both functional yet sturdy. It has a 28mm wide-angle lens and a 5x optical zoom to cover the needed distance when shooting. The camera has a large 3-inch LCD screen so you can get a better preview of photos and it…

Samsung WB500 Digital Camera Review

Relevance: 78%      Posted on: June 11, 2009

The Samsung WB500 is one of the few compact cameras I've seen with such zoom capabilities. While most compact cameras only have 3x optical zoom, the WB500 can do 10x. The camera is a bit thick and bulky and easily lands in the "large compact" category of digital cameras. The body is curved outward a little on the right end and has a small patch of rubber up front so you get a good grip while shooting. The almost all-metal body and black, matte finish gives it a pretty slick look and professional appeal. The most prominent feature is the…

Western Digital Around the World Contest

Relevance: 73%      Posted on: January 4, 2012

Our friends from Western Digital in the region is holding another contest and I'd like to invite our readers here to join in. Prizes include Western Digital HDDs and tickets to cool destinations like Maldives, Bali or Phuket. The mechanics is actually pretty simple but very challenging -- identify the city and the landmark in a collection of photos (they've strategically added the picture of a WD HDD in every landmark) As of today, there's about a dozen or more photos of landmarks in countries such as Philippines, Australia, Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, etc. I tried the quiz myself…
