With the Galaxy Note line stealing the limelight from Samsung’s own tablet line, we were quite unsure of what happened with the Galaxy Tabs. Looks like Samsung still has plans for it as they have officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
Last week, local distributor BanBros Commercial announced that they will be releasing the GalaPad in local stores. The GalaPad is a 7-inch IPS tablet that’s powered by a Tegra 3 processor running Jellybean.
Went around SM Cyberzone in Megamall this afternoon and spotted Acer’s new Jellybean tablet. This could be the Acer Iconia B1 Jellybean tablet which was supposed to retail for only $99 in the US but then re-priced to $150 by Acer during CES 2013.
Asus has recently announced what could be a much cheaper Android Jellybean tablet than the Nexus 7. Though not really as powerful as the Nexus 7, the MeMO Pad ME172V will be more affordable by 25%.
Along with the ZTE Skate that was launched yesterday, MSI-ECS will also be carrying the ZTE Light Tab 2. Though still running an outdated Android Gingerbread, the Light Tab 2 comes with 3G function.

Samsung has yet announced another variant of their Galaxy Tab, and this time it’s somewhat of a refresh from the first 7-inch Tab they did a year ago — the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
And we thought Amazon’s Kindle Fire was something revolutionary for a tablet until we found out Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color actually started it all. Let’s look at how much different, or alike, the Kindle Fire is to the Nook Color.
Amazon announces a full touchscreen Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G, both shedding off the physical keyboard. That, plus the Kindle Fire, which is basically a cheap, dual-core, multi-touch tablet.

ZTE’s line up of tablets are both 7-inchers and supports both GSM and CDMA networks, with one looker much better than the other. The ZTE Light Tab 2 is for GSM network while the ZTE T72 is for CDMA.
If the Asus UX21 will not fit in your budget, the Taiwanese manufacturer is also bringing in a netbook with a similar form factor and with a starting price of under $200. The unit, called the Asus Eee PC X101, will also boot up with a Meego OS pre-installed.
It’s better late than never so Toshiba also announced their very own Android tablet yesterday which is epxected to be released later this year. Powered by an NVidia Tegra processor, the Toshiba AS100 will run Android Froyo 2.2 out of the box.
RedFox Technologies announced over the week-end the availability of its long-overdue tablet PC — the RedFox WizPad. First mentioned back in July, the WizPad is a 10-inch tablet running an Intel Atom CPU and Windows 7.
So HP’s own tablet PC has formally launched today and like RIM, it will be intended for enterprise use. Dubbed the HP Slate 500, this Windows 7 tablet has all the genes of a typical netbook hardware.
Both Asus and Acer have released their upgraded netbooks sporting dual-core Atom CPUs and looks like Samsung has just followed suit with the Samsung NP-NF210.
Dual-core Atom processors are making the rounds of the usual 10-inch netbooks. I’m currently reviewing the Eee PC 1215N but looks like the Asus Eee PC 1015PEM is also out in stores.
There’s not much you can do with the current line of netbooks nowadays. Most of the time, it’s just some sort of re-design and that’s what they did with the Asus Eee PC 1018P.
So it’s official now — the Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 takes the center stage with a combo of Cortex-A8 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM and PowerVR SGX540 graphics.
Turns out the IdeaPad S10-3s netbook showed to us by Lenovo Philippines was already running on the newer dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor.
