Leaked iPhone 4S Pre-order Page from Globe Telecom

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: November 24, 2011

An anonymous source gave us this link of the pre-order page for the iPhone 4S from Globe Telecom. This could mean we're really almost close to the launch of the iPhone 4S in the Philippines (but we already knew that from Globe's CEO a couple days ago). The page is typical of the pre-order page of Globe when they do online reservations for the iPhone (as we've seen in the last several years). Double-checked it several times and it looks like it's nowhere to be found on Globe's homepage which tells us this is still "unofficial". What's interesting is that…

China Telecom has jumped the gun and prematurely announced the iPhone 6 ahead of the official Apple announcement on September 9. The announcement was made by China Telecom in their official Weibo account and though they have deleted the post, it was quickly shared by readers. The poster shows 3 color variants of the iPhone 6 along with a few details about the device. There were several leaks of the iPhone 6 before (see here) but this one by China Telecom puts a lot of credence to it. We're also been able to go hands-on with several iPhone 6 cases…

Relevance: 80%      Posted on: September 18, 2010

So this is it -- the long wait is finally over! Sources tell me that the iPhone 4 from Globe Telecom will be arriving on September 26, 2010. Globe Telecom account reps have been making calls to those who signed-up on that registration form and saying the iPhone 4 will be available by Sunday the 26th so if you're one of them, expect a call too. There's no mention of pricing for the iPhone 4 but based on experience, Apple usually gives the go signal to the telco when the prices should be published and from the last time I…

When Globe Telecom came out and announced the pricing plans for the iPhone 3G, a lot of people cried foul and declared it too expensive. Some even claims Globe is exploiting the iPhone 3G popularity for charging exorbitant fees on the exclusive iPhone. So I did some digging on Globe's existing price plans and found out that the Nokia E90 is even more expensive! Can't believe it myself but take a look at the chart below: The iPhone 3GB 8GB is cheaper than the top business phone of Nokia (E90). You get the iPhone 3G 8GB for free on GPlan…

Rumor: SM’s Henry Sy buying Globe Telecom?

Relevance: 75%      Posted on: May 27, 2012

We got this really surprising tip from a source that rumor is going around that billionaire tycoon Henry Sy is looking to buy controlling shares of Globe Telecom. Henry Sy has interestes in a lot of markets -- retail, real estate, banking, leisure, etc. This rumored interest in the telecoms industry could have been sparked by the recent acquisition of Digitel by PLDT, putting the competition between Smart and Globe in a spotlight. Earlier, Globe has secured a $90 million loan from China Banking Corp. to spend for the expansion of its 4G network in the Philippines. China Bank is…
