Using multiple internet services has its benefits. I have 2 DSL providers at home, a postpaid mobile WiFi plan, and 2 smartphone subscriptions with mobile internet plans. As such, I am able to dedicate one line to a specific task or purpose.
Globe Telecom has just announced their very first LTE smartphone and picked the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE as its flagship handset.
So now that Globe’s LTE service has been finally revealed, we look at the pricing plans and compared it to Smart LTE. The chart below should give you a bigger picture on what each telco is offering.
Last night, Globe Telecom finally showed to members of the media the device they will use for their LTE service called Tattoo Black. They’ve also made speedtests showing bandwidths on up to 42Mbps on their network.
So Globe Telecom came out today with another teaser for their LTE service. Dubbed, Globe Tattoo Black, the soon-to-be-launched LTE service also promises speeds of up to 42Mbps with a monthly service fee that starts at Php1,799.
The Apple iPhone 5 is set to be announced next week (Wednesday, September 12) and the WSJ reports that it will be LTE-capable. While we are excited that we might also be experiencing super-fast 100Mbps mobile internet speeds, we’re also worried how much it will cost.

After the recent public hearing by the NTC, they’ve announced that provisions for bandwidth caps have been removed from memo. But that’s just the NTC and it’s still a draft so ISPs can still continue with their bandwidth capping provisions as stated in their service contracts and AUP.
