This is my blogger code: B9 d++ t+ k+ s u f+ i o x e+ l c-- Got it from Dean Paul's blog. I find it cute, in a techy way. It could find its way into my "about" page. Take the survey and get your blogger code here. Update: Jangelo is calling all pinoy bloggers to Digg Pinoy.Tech.Blog. Side Note: I am temporarily disabling PinoyTopBlogs. Too many SQL connections and it's dragging the server to a halt. Will have to wait for the release version of evoTopSites and install their caching system to reduce load. They told me…

Globe explains Duo Landline service

Relevance: 94%      Posted on: May 8, 2009

In a press briefing yesterday afternoon, executives from Globe Telecom formally announced their new Globe Duo service - a mobile and landline number in one SIM. I was able to clarify some of the earlier concerns and questions I had about the service (since I'm also a subscriber). Some areas outside of NCR has an area code of +02 like San Pedro, Laguna. Globe is making an exception for these areas and include them in the Duo coverage. Globe has confirmed that they will expand the Duo service to other cities and provinces although there's no set date on their…

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: April 9, 2007

As mentioned earlier in last Tuesday's Wrap, Tim O'Reilly is proposing a Blogger's Code of Conduct. On Wikia, that code of conduct is now under development. Help Tim O'Reilly and Jimmy Wales to write the draft or join in the discussion. Here's the first 6 suggested codes of conduct on that list: 1. We take responsibility for our own words and for the comments we allow on our blog. 2. We won't say anything online that we wouldn't say in person. 3. If tensions escalate, we will connect privately before we respond publicly. 4. When we believe someone is unfairly…

Online Advertising & the Omnibus Election Code

Relevance: 88%      Posted on: January 29, 2007

I'm no Election Law expert nor am I a lawyer trying to explain some mumbo-jumbo about the Omnibus Election Code. However, I'd like to start some discussions about online or internet advertising in relation to the upcoming May 2007 elections (looks like I'm into this election lately). First, Internet Advertising. I quickly glanced at the Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines and there wasn't a section about campaigning thru the internet nor any provisions which monitors advertising online. There are specific sections on equalizing air-time among candidates on TV and radio but still none for the internet. (A side note:…

Google Code Search used to hack blogs/websites

Relevance: 87%      Posted on: December 27, 2006

There were a lot of buzz before about the Google Code Search among programmers and coders. There were also announcements from software vendors like vBulletin that copies of their software can be downloaded from sites of legitimate license holders. All you gotta do was do a search of the software and all vB copies uploaded somewhere on someone's website can be viewed and even downloaded. This usually happens if people leaves a copy of the software on their site without password protecting the folders where they store it. Now, the same code search by Google is used to find vulnerable…
