Globe to release BlackBerry Q10 in June on Plan 1799

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: May 25, 2013

Just got a tip from a source inside Globe that the BlackBerry Q10 is ready to be served to customers next month and it will probably come free with Plan 1799 just like the BB Z10. Last March, the BlackBerry Z10 was released in the Philippines with all 3 telcos offering the handset at various postpaid plans. However, only Globe offered the Z10 with LTE connectivity. It looks like it's going to be the same with the BlackBerry Q10. Globe will also have an early head-start -- almost 1 month ahead of other telcos, according to our source. As for…

Globe iPhone 6 shipments delayed due to courier problems

Relevance: 91%      Posted on: November 18, 2014

Last November 14, Globe shipped out orders of the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to subscribers nationwide. There were a lot of people who pre-ordered the new Apple devices and while the first 200 customers who lined up at midnight for the release, the remaining units were scheduled for shipping that very same morning. We reached out to Globe reps to ask for explanations but have not gotten anything until now so we took to several sources, including customers who were affected. From what we gather, the problem stemmed from lack of coordination between the telco and their partner…

Poll: What’s your ideal 2nd phone/handset?

Relevance: 80%      Posted on: May 22, 2011

The title for best primary phone or handset is being constantly disputed by so many manufacturers -- there's the iPhone, then the best of Android, Nokia's selection and RIM's BlackBerry bet. In a country where multiple SIM is very common, the title for most-wanted secondary handset is still up for grabs. Back in the days, most people I see that uses a second phone prefer the simple and cheap candybar phones. I reckon the most important factors that determine a secondary phone would include - battery life, affordability and size or form factor. That could change though depending on the…

The next Smart Netphone handset could be a Huawei

Relevance: 78%      Posted on: March 15, 2012

After Smart released the very first Netphone handset last year (i.e. Netphone 701), they have not followed that with another one except for a couple of Netphone Editions like the Galaxy Y. We wonder if Smart will still introduce new ones and from our past interviews, they've promised they will. It's pretty obvious that the Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition was a blockbuster and sold hundreds of thousands. The retail price of around Php6,000 was a sweet spot (especially with Smart Plan 349) that even retail stores have even increased the selling price to Php7,000 due to the huge demand.…
