The National Telecommunications Commission has posted a memorandum circular last January 30 that will require ISPs to block child pornographic content and websites in the Philippines. With the implementation of the rules and regulations, ISPs will have to install carrier-grade monitoring programs to identify and filter out porn content. Been asked about this several times before but could not give a more definitive answer since I have not tried all of the postpaid plans. So I thought why not get everyone's opinion, especially from those who have been on postpaid for many years. Our obvious choice is between Sun, Smart and Globe and their respective postpaid plans. Which carrier offers the most value vis-a-vis the monthly service fee. Meaning, if you pay Php500 MSF, are you also getting Php500 of calls, text and mobile internet hours or do you get more? Which carrier offers the most flexible plan so…

Please do send your answers to our Poll section on the right side and/or add a comment…

The Pirate Bay Taps CloudFlare to Overcome ISP Block

Relevance: 86%      Posted on: March 19, 2015

Resilient is a fitting term to describe the torrent site The Pirate Bay. After surviving the Swedish Police onslaught late last year, the popular peer-to-peer site rose from the shambles in under two months and is now back with a vengeance. TPB’s revenge comes in the form of switching to CloudFlare SSL service which in turn allows the site to overcome the block that internet service providers, particularly in UK as per the ruling of the country’s High Court, put up which prevents their respective subscribers from accessing the site. Other than that, CloudFlare also provides Full SSL (HTTPS-Strict) encryption…
