Relevance: 70%      Posted on: July 26, 2011

Well, that's according to FindPeopleonPlus.com which tracks over 4.4 million Google+ users since the service went online a couple of weeks back. A week ago, we weren't event in the top 30. FindPeopleonPlus has already indexed about 6,148 Google+ users from or based in the Philippines (taken from their profiles). Hong Kong (8,000), Thailand (8,700), Vietnam (10,000) and Indonesia (12,00) are still ahead of us but it shouldn't be long 'til we climb to the top 10 (I guess people should also start adding Philippines in their Google Profiles). It's also a bit odd that even the list of Filipinos…

Watch out for Google Philippines!

Relevance: 69%      Posted on: October 16, 2006

There was an entry at PTB about Google hiring Country Representatives for the Philippines over a year ago. That ad was there for the longest time and I thought it's because either no one's applying for such a high position or Google is just to picky. So, I was surprised when Marc told me about his email correspondence with this lady who's apparently the Philippine Marketing Manager (of sorts) for Google. He confirms the story here and posted job openings too. And I thought if ever they did open an office here, it would be to get some Adsense rep…

What to expect from the Google office in the Philippines

Relevance: 61%      Posted on: January 24, 2013

When Google announced their local office in the Philippines yesterday, there was a lot of buzz that followed as the search giant sets its eyes on the country. But what does it really mean to have a local Google Philippines office? Just like several other multi-national companies, Google Philippines will primarily be a sales-driven team. This is the same case with Intel PH, Microsoft PH, Apple PH and even Yahoo! PH (although Yahoo! PH also has huge editorial team for localized content). That means focus on Google Adwords, their advertising platform, will be a primary concern and the Google PH…

With Google's update for Android smartphones, the company has announced that it will be introducing a new feature that lets users voice search a contact by simply saying their relationship to him/her. To use this feature, the user must allow the Google app to have access to the user's contacts and should also update its information under the "Relationship" category of that specific contact whether it's your brother, sister, mom, etc. Now, calling loved…
