HP Pavillion dm3 spotted and priced

HP’s Pavillion dm2 was one of the first few ultraportables in the thin and light category but came with an AMD Athlon Neo processor and was priced way higher than most others in the category. HP seems to have corrected that oversight with the HP Pavillion dm3.

First announced by HP back in January the Pavillion DV2 series has been available locally for some time now. This ultrathin AMD NEO powered laptop can be considered a direct competitor with the Acer Timeline series with a slight advantage of a discrete graphics card.

Last week, Microsoft put out an ad about a lady who wanted to buy a 17″ laptop for under $1,000. Not finding a Mac for that price, she quipped “I’m just not cool enough to be a Mac person“. That line hit a major nerve among Mac fans for reasons I don’t really understand.
