HTC Sensation set to launch on June 15

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 12, 2011

We got the date pegged so this one is confirmed -- the HTC Sensation (along with the Wildfire S that's already been sold in stores for weeks now) is set to launch this coming Wednesday, June 15. This rings true to our earlier report of a June release in the Philippines. That means you should be seeing units available this week or next week at the latest. Unfortunately, we still don't have the final suggested retail price of the unit (which means HTC is still figuring out how to price it considering the Galaxy S2 is already priced at Php29,990…

Relevance: 95%      Posted on: September 14, 2011

HTC's investment into Beats by Dr. Dre has finally gotten some airtime with the refresh of their flagship Android smartphone, the HTC Sensation XE. It's not really a surprise that HTC wants some of that rockstar vibes that comes with Beats. The only difference between the old HTC Sensation and the Sensation XE is the bump in clock-speed to 1.5GHz. HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio specs: 4.3 inches @ 540 x 960 pixels 1.5 GHz dual-core processor Adreno 220 GPU Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon Gorilla glass display 1 GB storage, 768 MB RAM up to 32GB via microSD, 8GB…

Announced around the second week of September, the HTC Sensation XE has arrived in the Philippines. It's the big brother of the original HTC Sensation but comes with Beats Audio plus a few more upgrades. The Sensation XE has that same big, solid body as the first one with a large 4.3" screen and that signature HTC design. There are a few subtle changes added to the Sensation XE. A red accent is found on the speaker grilles, the navigational touch panel, the camera ring and the large Beats Audio logo at the back. The Beats Audio logo will also…

The Sensation XL is also among the few handsets that is branded with Beats Audio, just like the Sensation XE. With its ginormous 4.7-inch screen and 9.9mm thin body, the Sensation XL is one of the biggest handsets from HTC, along with the HTC Titan. HTC Sensation XL specs: 4.7-inch S-LCD display @ 480x800 pixels 1.5GHz single-core Scorpion processor Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset 16 GB…

HTC Sensation’s Death Grip Isssue

Relevance: 87%      Posted on: July 2, 2011

When I reviewed the HTC Sensation earlier this week, I did not mention the issue on WiFi signal because I did not thoroughly test it with my review unit. Since the time of the iPhone 4's death grip issue, we already knew that holding a phone is certain ways will reduce its signal strength. So we're doing an in-depth test this time. We did a quick test of that here last year which included the Xperia X10, Galaxy S and HTC Desire. We're trying the same test again with the HTC Sensation but this time, we're looking at the WiFi…

Galaxy S2 vs. LG Optimus 2X vs. HTC Sensation

Relevance: 83%      Posted on: July 3, 2011

Having tested and reviewed all the 3 dual-core Android smartphones available locally, I think I can now share my personal thoughts on the three and lay down my verdict. Read my round-up of the Samsung Galaxy S2 vs. HTC Sensation vs. LG Optimus 2X after the jump. The LG Optimus 2X got points for design and construction, gaming and price-point. It's the most affordable among all the dual-core Android phones we reviewed (though not by much but still, thanks in part to LG, Samsung and HTC priced their handsets competitively). The Tegra 2 chipset did very well with games, especially…

New Case-Mate cases for Wildfire S and HTC Sensation

Relevance: 82%      Posted on: August 14, 2011

I have a friend who would not open any of his newly-bought gadgets unless he has the screen protector and wrapped it with a case. One time, it took him over a month before he was able to use his new iPod Touch because there wasn't any locally available case for it yet. Apparently, the gadget case industry is a huge industry. Imagine the hundreds of millions of phones being sold every year? And that's just phones -- there are other devices like tablets, portable gaming devices and the likes. I reckon the industry generates at least $2 billion in…

HTC Sensation coming in June at Php30k

Relevance: 80%      Posted on: May 14, 2011

According to a source close to HTC Philippines, the HTC Sensation (the Taiwanese company's own dual-core flagship smartphone) is scheduled to be released in the Philippines this June. The problem though is that, by that time, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the LG Optimus 2X will have a head start at attracting most of the early adopters who are willing to shell out enough dough for their premium price. HTC Sensation specs: 4.3 inches @ 540 x 960 pixels 1.2 GHz dual-core processor Adreno 220 GPU Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon Gorilla glass display HTC Sense v3.0 UI 1 GB storage,…

The HTC Sensation is now officially in the Philippines with Smart offering the handset for free at Plan 3000 or you can get it from official retailers at a suggested retail price of Php31,990 while the Wildfire S goes for Php15,500. That's Php1k lower than our previous report of a Php33k SRP three days ago (probably a reaction to people's feedback about the price; even the dealers did not know their own price as well until tonight). HTC Sensation specs: 4.3 inches @ 540 x 960 pixels 1.2 GHz dual-core processor Adreno 220 GPU Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon Gorilla glass…
