HTC Philippines formally launched the HTC One last May 21 at the Hyve in The Fort. The release of the handsets are scheduled for today, May 24, in all HTC Concept Stores in Metro Manila. We managed to borrow a review unit just in time to get some sample photos and videos.
O+ is bringing their own version of a 5-incher smartphone into the Philippines with this quad-core powered O+ 8.15 Jellybean smartphone. We’ve been testing this unit, fresh from their US headquarters, for several days now so we can share with you our initial impressions.

Back in September 2010, I wrote about Smart’s bid to carry the iPhone 4 in the Philippines. The commitment price then was allegedly in the 6-billion peso range {read story here}. That did not pan out but Smart continues to talk to Apple regarding their internet-enabled iDevices.
Since Smart and HTC started an exclusive handset deal last month, all Android phones coming that will be released in the Philippines will find its way first thru Smart’s corridors. The same is true with the upcoming HTC Evo 3D.

I got to check out the iPhone 4 yesterday and, once again, today with Art (@artsamaniego) and we placed it side by side the Samsung Galaxy S and the HTC Desire — then comparing the Retina Display, AMOLED and Super AMOLED display of the three.
Two of the most anticipated mobile phones of 2010 are now being sold in gray markets in Metro Manila. Saw a couple of them, HTC Touch HD2 and Nokia N900, being sold at InfoMax for a pretty big wad of cash.
This is more like a wish list rather than a prediction for the year 2009 with specific focus on the Philippine tech landscape. Hopefully, we’d be able to see some of the items on the list become a reality before the year ends.
I think this year will end with the most number of highly anticipated phones from all corners of the mobile market. Almost all the big players had given their all and it’s up to the consumers to decide who’s the big winner.
Yesterday, HTC officially launched their newest line of smart phones named HTC Touch Diamond. I totally missed the media launch yesterday noon at the Renaissance Hotel (I have a record of 80% probability to miss an event if it’s earlier than 1pm) but was able to check out the unit last week.
