Relevance: 100%      Posted on: October 25, 2007

As in it's all over the blogosphere now. A lot of popular sites have been slapped with PageRank penalties, some scrambling for their lives. And some though it was just this blog. Here's a long list of very popular and trusted sites been drastically affected by the recent PageRank update. PR5 -> PR4 PR6 -> PR4 PR7 -> PR5 PR6 -> PR4 PR6 -> PR4 PR6 -> PR4 PR6 -> PR4 PR7 -> PR4 PR7 -> PR4 PR6 -> PR4 PR6 -> PR3 PR6 -> PR4 PR7…

Crazy Google PageRank

Relevance: 88%      Posted on: January 24, 2007

Sometimes, whatever you do and however you follow the webmaster guidelines, you just don't understand the outcome from Google. I just discovered that my blog has turned PR6. But it's not the URL that I've always been using -- i.e. -- that one is still PR5. So which one is it? Check out the PR6 results for here. All the rest -- and remains at PR5 (mind the leading slashes). Now, how did that happen when is something I can't understand myself. So I say forget about PR.

Just for the week-end though. We arrived back here just an hour ago and tired from the 4-hour drive. This trip was organized by Ms. Google Philippines herself. I took tons of pictures but I can't post the ones in bikinis so let's just post the one with the "Lost" inspired shot instead: In the pictures, (from left to right at the back) Rico, Aileen, Mark (Sharm's cousin) & May, Ryan (my bro), Arianne (my cousin), Yuga and Sasha. Sitting in front are Jayvee, Sharms, & Marc. Gail didn't make it 'coz she's sick but was happy to take care…

Acer Aspire One AO751 Unboxed

Relevance: 83%      Posted on: June 20, 2009

Finally got one of the new Acer Aspire One AO751. This 11.6" netbook is already the size of most regular 12" notebooks but with some glaring differences. Firth thing though -- here are some unboxing photos to show how slim this new Aspire One is. This Acer Aspire One AO751 only runs on an Intel Atom Z520 CPU which clocks at 1.33GHz. The labels on the box and on the sticker in the keyboard indicates that it's WAN-ready but the 3G modem is nowhere to be found. Turns out this model doesn't have it (the one with the 3G SIM…

Just got the new Nokia E71 business phone and I've been testing it for a couple of days now. Haven't finished yet but so far, everything's positive from the usability end. For the meantime, check out the pics and price list below after the break. Announced in early June 2008, the Nokia E71 is the QWERTY version of the Nokia E51. Click on the thumbnails for larger images. Survey of prices range from Php21,200 to Php24,990 but I've seen one store that sells it for Php37,000! The Nokia E71 is available in most major mobile phone stores and malls. Review…

I’m seeing PR6 everywhere.

Relevance: 83%      Posted on: February 27, 2006

Is it just me or what but I'm seeing a hint of PR 6 for my blog. The Google ToolbarPR5 info is already outdated but the Live Pagerank indicator (via a FireFox extension) is already giving me a PR 6 for this blog. If you check here, almost half of the Google data Centers have already upgraded my PR to 6, while PinoyTechBlog is showing signs of another PR 6 as well as Pinoy Travel Blog (biggest leap from a PR3). PinoyBlog & plogHost is going for a solid PR 6. Get the Firefox extension here.

When Old Media goes New Media

When Jayvee approached me to collaborate with them (as a consultant) on building up Hinge Inquirer's blog network, I was surprised that traditional publications are looking into new media as a path to expanding their readership and brand. After several months and with the help of uber WP theme designer Gail, I'm allowed ready to disclose my participation with HIP and their 6 new blogs: Mobile Philippines PC Magazine Game Magazine Burn F&B World & Baking Press Golf Digest I used to do the themes but Gail took over around the middle of the project. I have a 2-year contract…
