Back in September 2010, I wrote about Smart’s bid to carry the iPhone 4 in the Philippines. The commitment price then was allegedly in the 6-billion peso range {read story here}. That did not pan out but Smart continues to talk to Apple regarding their internet-enabled iDevices.

iPhone 4S goes on pre-order in Singapore for Php32k

The iPhone 4S has just started pre-selling in Singapore so we’re thinking the Philippines could be next (based on last year’s trend, this could be 3 to 4 weeks). The starting price — SGD948, just over Php32k for the 16GB model. That’s about Php2k more expensive than last year.

There was a time when mobile Internet was considered a luxury service. It was only limited to corporate executives who needs mobile Internet to access Outlook emails and SharePoint files.
