Sony Walkman F800: an iPod Touch challenger?

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: July 18, 2012

Sony's previous Z-series portable media player pumped out great sound and looked good but didn't really cause a dent due to the steep price tag and its competitor's huge popularity (mainly Apple's iPod touch). Well, seems like Sony isn't giving up. The Japanese home entertainment giant has just revealed its new Walkman F800 PMP which runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and boasts a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, web-browsing, access to Google Play and a couple of Sony-exclusive features such as the S-Master MX Digital Amplifier, Clear Audio Technology, a built-in xLOUD speaker system that -- according…

White iPod Touch debuts, skips the upgrade

Relevance: 95%      Posted on: October 5, 2011

Along with the announcement of the iPhone 4S, the iPod Touch also got a minor update with a new White model now included in the line-up. Sadly, there are no hardware upgrades on this one. Was hoping it would get the same specs as the iPad 2 but all they did was paint it all white. The price looks the same in the US with the 8GB model starting at $199, 32GB at $299 and the 64GB at $399. In the Apple Philippines Online Store, the figures are a bit skewed and somewhat more expensive than last year's price. iPod

iPod Touch: Up Close and Personal

I got my hands on the new iPod Touch yesterday. And despite some minor shortcomings, the device lives up to its hype. Check the details and shots after the jump. Two of the most attractive features of the iPod Touch for me are the wide screen video player (something you can hook up inside your car in lieu of those NextBase players) and the full featured Safari browser (which allows you to surf and comfortably read blogs via wifi without opening up your laptop or desktop computer). For a hands-on review of the iPod Touch, check out my post over…

Relevance: 89%      Posted on: July 16, 2015

Apple has refreshed its iPod Touch line with an upgraded hardware and color variants, a step they have not done for many years. The new iPod Touch now comes with the latest Apple A8 processor, exactly the same ones being used in the iPhone 6 (that's 3 generations apart since the iPod Touch used to be have an A5 chip). Apple also introduced new color variants -- space gray, silver and gold - the same colors they have with other products. This puts the total number of color variants to 6. 16GB - Php12,590 32GB - Php15,590 64GB - Php18,590…

5th Gen iPod Touch: Unboxed, in the flesh

Relevance: 89%      Posted on: October 21, 2012

Bought the 5th-generation iPod Touch lst Friday night after learning that Beyond the Box was already carrying them. Although it is still in limited stocks, was able to get 32GB black/slate model for around Php16.5k. I think this is the first time that Apple introduced a lot of colors to the iPod Touch line (used to be just black and white). One of the first things you will notice when you unbox the iPod Touch 5G is how thin and light it is. At only 6.1mm thin, this is very apparent when you hold the device. So yeah, it's the…

Aside from the iPhone 5, Apple also introduced the next generation of iPod touch and nano. Now with massive upgrades and new designs. The new iPod touch or let's say the iPod touch 5th generation is now way more powerful than its predecessor. It now has a 5 megapixel iSight camera with LED flash that can record 1080p HD videos and can shoot panoramic images, a 4-inch Retina display, dual-core A5 processors, thinner and lighter than the previous iPod touch, Siri, iOS 6, and it's all housed in an anodized aluminum body that comes in five different colors (black, raw…

Though local availability of the new line of iPod Nano, iPod Touch and the 120GB Classic is still sparse, their prices have been made available on most Apple reseller stores. iOS4 quickly drains iPod Touch battery

Relevance: 87%      Posted on: July 13, 2010

Since I updated my iPod Touch 2G to iOS4 several weeks back, I haven't really used it very often. So last night, I pulled it from the charger and played a single podcast. Then this morning, I woke up and saw that the iPod Touch had its battery almost drained. In less than 10 hours, the iPod Touch went from 100% to 10% battery life and all I did was play a 30-minute podcast. The culprit, it seems, is iOS4. Been reading more about this now from searching for similar incidents but have not gotten a fix for it. Probably,…
