Apple iPad 2 Review

Just when we thought the iPad could not get any better, Apple released yet another one. Though naming it the iPad 2 does not carry that Apple flair (easy to guess the next generation will be called iPad 3), it easily banked on the brand’s super-popularity. Check out our full review of the Apple iPad 2 after the jump.

iPod Nano 6G Review

The 6th generation iPod Nano must be the oddest looking iPod in recent history of Apple. It does not look anything similar to its predecessor nor any other iPods before it. Check out our full review of the iPod Nano 6G after the jump.

iPod Shuffle 4G Review

The latest iPod Shuffle (4th generation) does not enjoy the title of the smallest music player from Apple. That title is still retained by the older model which they abandoned. Check out our full review of the iPod Shuffle 4G after the jump.

Microsoft Zune 8GB Review

Having had several mp3 players (an iPod Video 30GB, a Nano, an iPod Touch and a Red Zune) for sometime now, I find myself using the Zune more often than the others. Let me share with you some things about the Microsoft Zune and why I think it’s a good replacement for the venerable Apple iPod.

Nokia N81 8GB Special Edition Review

I’ve been using the Nokia N81 for a couple of weeks now and I must say I wasn’t that quite excited about it as many would have. Despite the squarish and heavy built, this model is a beauty. Let me share some of the noticeable features of this unit.

Fake 2nd Gen iPod Nano

Just came back from 168 Mall (Divisoria) with my cousins for some last minute shopping before they go back to the province. There were several gadget shops there but one stall really fooled me with this 2nd generation iPod Nano. Took several shots with my phone camera:

Fake Nano

From the glass shelves, it looked like the real thing but when I asked the saleslady how much it was, she replied Php1,900. Ok, that’s a dead giveway. Capacity is still at 256MB like the older imitations I saw at Makati Cinema Square last year.

iPod Imitation

The other one son the shelves had the logo and name of Apple iPod in them. There’s even the iShuffle too wrapped in them cheap green boxes. They must be selling like hotcakes still. Why would they come out with a new model imitation if it weren’t?

iPod Nanos

In Malaysia, they have rock solid iPod Nano imitations which looks, feels and plays like the real one with capacities from 1GB to 8GB (see the online store Lelong.com.my). Prices starts from RM 355 to RM 545 (Malaysia Ringgits) or $102 for the 1GB and $155 for the 8GB — high priced, high-quality imitations eh?

Gadget Shopping at Amazon.com

Since my uncle will be going home from Texas first week of June, I sent him an email if I could have my stuff at Amazon shipped to their address and add it to their balikbayan box.

I hurriedly went looking for stuff over at Amazon and see how many I could buy with the $200 prize money I got from some contests before. I originally settled for an iPod Nano but since the $200 wasn’t enough (and the fact that new models will be coming out real soon), I picked out some other things:

Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router

SanDisk SDSDH-1024-901 1 GB Ultra II Secure Digital Memory Card
SanDisk Ultra II 1 GB Secure Digital Card

Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse
Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse

Swiss Army Ranger Pocket Knife

Total Price: $190.69 (with free shipping)

My original list was totally different (except for the wireless router) but since Amazon GCs are not accepted by 3rd party vendors, I had to settle with stuff that are sold directly by Amazon.
