Sony Xperia S Review

So the Sony and Ericsson affair has finally ended and the mobile tech world is waiting for Sony to reveal its pure blood offspring the way they would for the next pope. What Sony has released from its labs is far from anything that resembles a PlayStation-loving teenager. Carrying a 4.3” HD screen under a piano black glass that is mounted on a poly-carbonate black-matte body, they have sent out a man in an Armani suit. Last time I heard about AC Ryan was thru Calvin of PTB when he bought his unit in Singapore a couple of years ago. By May this year, we got word from the distributor that it’s now available in the Philippines and we got a review unit of the AC Ryan Play On! HD a couple of weeks ago.

Popcorn Hour A210 Networked Media Jukebox

First time I knew of networked media tanks (NMT) was a couple of years ago when the local distributor of Popcorn Hour in the Philippines visited my pad and demoed the player to me. The NMT has improved since then and we got the newer Popcorn Hour A210 to play with.

If you owned and liked the Popcorn Hour of Syabas, then the new, better and cheaper PopBox. Syabas dropped the price down to $129 from $300 two years ago.

HDX 1000 NMT Player Review

After over a week of playing around with the HDX 1000 Media Player, I am convinced that this is a great device to have especially if you’re mostly watching downloadable shows. It has some quirkiness but let me share why I think this media player is worth considering.

Another favorite in the networked media player market is the HDX 1000. A relative of the Popcorn Hour (similar hardware platform created by Syabas), the HDX 1000 comes in a black brushed-metal chassis that houses a terabyte of photos, music and hidef videos.
