It was a pretty interesting tour going around the Qualcomm Museum last week as we saw the chip and wireless development in mobile phones thru the decades. Here are some of the more interesting stuff we found in there.
We’ve had this 50-inch Smart 3D Internet TV from DEVANT for a couple of weeks already and it’s been sitting in the living room for the most part of this review.
Over the years, we’ve seen the TV change its appearance and functionality that it became more than just a favorite past time. It has allowed the internet to reshape it to give birth to the now famous but too expensive Smart TVs. So how about us with ordinary TVs and cheaper HDTVs gotta do? This [...]
Was listening to a noontime show this afternoon when I heard my music artist promoting his new album (I think it was Charlie Green). Didn’t hear them promoting iTunes or even the local equivalent (MyMusicStore).
We had a good two weeks with the Noontec Media Player MovieHome V8. It’s a totally new media player to me but having used and played with a lot of similar ones before, it was fairly easy to familiarize myself with the device. Check out our full review after the jump.
We’ve had a good month or two using the media player from Mede8er, the MED500X2. It handily replaced all my other media players at home (Apple TV, HDX 1000 and Popcorn Hour) and not really missing them a lot as the MED500X2 basically does almost 99% of the job.
We’re seen so many portable battery packs these days and they keep coming in different size, shape and power capacity. There’s another one that’s supposed to be released locally and comes from Choiix (part of the Cooler Master group).
While we’re starting to see more and more manufacturers going into the tablet craze, other small-time companies are on its way to offer glasses-less 3D tablets like the Gadmei P83 PMP player.
Our deal for this week at YugaDeals is something small, cheap but useful — an FM Transmitter & MP3 Player for the car (Intex EUP-806B).
So we just got our latest Meralco billing and the amount went up by 60% to Php14k from March to April. It’s the first time the bill went past ten grand in my entire life while living here in Metro Manila.
We got our hands on another networked media player — the Xtreamer Media Player and Streamer, a small and portable media player.
Microsoft may have a winner with their upcoming Zune HD, officially announced recently and sports some high-definition quality output.
One of the cutest mp3 players I’ve seen during the CEL Manila is this slim Sony Walkman NWZ-S730F .
Having had several mp3 players (an iPod Video 30GB, a Nano, an iPod Touch and a Red Zune) for sometime now, I find myself using the Zune more often than the others. Let me share with you some things about the Microsoft Zune and why I think it’s a good replacement for the venerable Apple [...]
Before there were iPods, there were MP3 players. The very first one was launched this Month on CeBIT in 1998. The iPod on the other hand, is just barely 7 years old.
If you’re not into digital cameras and the PhotoWorld is not something that you fancy for a sale, then head on over to Greenbelt 1.
Here’s another interesting poll for everyone — music piracy. Let’s admit it, 99% of us here have had downloaded an mp3 or two (thousand) in their lifetime.
After my talk at the SEMCON last week, I was approached by several attendees to discuss several stuff. One of the topics included the state of online music store in the Philippines. The main question I was trying to answer was — How much should music cost?
Rave reviews of the newly launched AmazonMP3 music store abound in the last couple of days. The big win here is obviously the over 2 million DRM-free songs it offered at launch day, something Apple is still struggling to do for years. Here’s a quick comparison of the two services so far:
Before Apple announces their new line of iPods (with speculations of a fully touch screen iPod video) this coming September 5, Samsung has already preempted their timing by annoucning the YP-P2 and YP-T10 (yeah, weird naming schemes). See screenshots and video after the jump…
Mp3newswire.net did a round-up of potential iPod killers for Summer 2006. Looking for an MP3 player and you are open to units other than the iPod? I doubt any of these units will be iPod killers (that silly term their marketing departments continue to use), but they do offer a lot of features not (yet) [...]

Beginning on April 17th you will embark on a quest that requires skill, intellect, and perseverance. For 24 days, you will encounter unique challenges. These daily [...]
Looks like this week is full of exciting (and not so exciting stories) after all. Here are some of the noteworthy ones for me: ABCI Anniversary Bodega Sale at MC Home Depot, Global City, Taguig on October 12 to 16 (10AM to 8PM). They’re be selling iPods, Jabra headsets, Philips and Sony electronics and gadgets, [...]
