MSI WindPad W100 in the flesh!

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: February 17, 2011

So we got our hands on the new MSI WindPad W100, one of the very few Windows 7 based tablets. With traditional tablets of this kind, expect a combo of an Intel chip and Win7 to cater to a specific market or niche. The WindPad W100 really looks and feels like a netbook cut into half, leaving out the keyboard. The device is a little thick on the side too, probably due to the limitations of the chip sizes. MSI also showed their own tablet/slate PC -- the WindPad 100 -- a 10-inch tablet PC running Windows 7 and an Atom processor. MSI also placed a UI layer on top of Windows to make applications easier to access and launch. According to Engadget, the MSI WindPad tablet is powered by an Intel Atom Z530 1.66GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB SSD. The tablet runs Windows 7 Home Premium out of the box. The 10-inch capacitive touchscreen display has a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. The specs alone looks like it's a netbook minus the keyboard and thus shaving…

Just like its 7-inch baby brother, MSI's WindPad Enjoy 10 comes with Gingerbread pre-installed and sells for under Php15,000. Looks like a decent tablet with a decent specs which might interest folks who fancy custom ROMs. MSI WindPad Enjoy 10 specs: 10.1″ capacitive display @ 1024x768 pixels ARM Cortex A8 1.0GHz 4GB internal storage 512MB RAM WiFi 802.11b/g/n Bluetooth 2.1 mini-HDMI mini-USB 2MP rear camera 2MP front-facing camera Card reader Android 2.3 Gingerbread Battery life is a paltry 5 hours which is curious since the 7-inch WindPad Enjoy promises a bit longer at 6 hours. Announced last month during the 25th anniversary of Toshiba, the Libretto W100 is coming to the Philippines next month. We got some time with the dual-screen mini-notebook yesterday. See photos and videos after the jump. The device is small but a little thick on the side, probably to accommodate more room for the dual LCD screens (see more details here). MSI usually puts out windows-based tablets to separate itself from the rest of the pack but it looks like it also has it own Android tablet as well. Announced in June this year at Computex Taiwan 2011, the MSI WindPad Enjoy 7 has arrived in local stores for a retail price of Php11,995. It's a bit off from MSI's promised SRP of only $199 which should only translate to about Php8,500. MSI WindPad 110W tablet pairs AMD and Windows 7

Relevance: 47%      Posted on: January 20, 2012

This is probably the first AMD-based tablet we've seen so far and it's even running Windows 7. I have to give it to MSI for putting out some of those odd yet interesting combinations and the MSI WindPad 110W is one of them. At 15.5mm on the side, it's a bit chunky but we're already used to that with Windows-based tablets. Sporting a 1.0GHz dual-core Brazos processor from AMD, the WinPad 110W also comes with an integrated AMD Radeon HD6250. This dual-screen tablet netbook isn't really the first one we've seen (MSI has a prototype they showed back in January during CES 2010), it might be the first one to hit the market this August. Each of the display is a 7-inch multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. The tablet will be running an Intel Pentium U5400 CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 64GB SSD.
