In the realm of gaming laptops, Dell’s enthusiast-oriented Alienware is one of the most well-known brands aside from Clevo and — the newcomer, Razer — brands which all come with stingy price tags. For those who are looking to spend less, Asus, MSI and a bunch of other [Asia-based] brands have all made their own [...]
We’ve been using MSI’s newest monster gaming laptop, the MSI GT-780R, for the past 2 weeks and enjoying it a lot so far. Not only did they put everything they can think of inside the rig but also added some really sleek exterior features as well.
So we got our hands on the new MSI WindPad W100, one of the very few Windows 7 based tablets. With traditional tablets of this kind, expect a combo of an Intel chip and Win7 to cater to a specific market or niche.
First shown back in May 2010, MSI’s Windows 7 powered tablet — the WindPad W100 — has now landed in the Philippines. Got the note from MSI reps yesterday and am expecting a review unit tomorrow.
The MSI FX400 is the first laptop we’ve tried out that features the NVidia Optimus technology which basically features a discreet graphics and an embedded GPU like the Intel HD Graphics. Click the link to see full review after the jump.
So the first batch of the new Macbook Air 11.6″ arrived early this week in all Apple Reseller Stores and we spared no time to get our hands into one of these babies. See un-boxing photos and first impressions after the jump.
NetEssentials sent us this new gaming laptop but after unboxing it, I thought I already reviewed the unit before until I saw what’s inside — this MSI GX660R is like the reincarnate of the MSI GT660.
The Asus NX90 is a limited edition laptop designed in collaboration with Daniel Lewis, the man behind the Bang and Olufsen look. Asus has made the notebook available in the Philippines on a per-order basis only.
Seems like MSI has put a lot of effort with the GT660 — not just with the hardware specifications but with the design and the audio system as well. Check out the full review of the MSI GT660 after the jump and see if it’s worth the Php110,000 price tag.
Intel SEA invited members of the press to a media workshop here in their Malaysia office to show us some of their latest and upcoming technologies. One of them is this prototype of a super-slim netbook powered by the next-generation Atom processor (Canoe Lake).
We got 3 units of MSI notebooks powered by the latest Intel Core i3 processors (CX620, CR420 and CX420) but despite having varying form factors and configurations, they all basically look alike. As such, we’ll start the review of the MSI CX620 and go from there.
With the number of MSI Wind netbooks coming out this year, it’s a bit hard to track down which model is which. Just in the 10-inch category, there’s the U160, the U130 and then this Wind U135.
First time we saw this netbook from MSI was back in December when Intel announced the Pine Trail platform and the new Atom N450 processor. We got this MSI WInd U135 to unbox yesterday and here are my first impressions of the unit.
MSI’s 12 inch Wind12 U210 netbook is the very first one in its category to sport a AMD Athlon Neo processor. Check out our review below and see how it fares in the Atom-dominated world of netbooks. Read: MSI Wind12 U210 Review
For several months now, a new category of notebooks have been introduced in the market that sports ultra-low voltage Intel CPUs and Athlon Neo, all of which promises ultra-portability and longer battery life aside from being thin and light.
A nice upgrade to the Wind U210 is the new MSI Wind12 U230 with the same Athlon Neo processor but on a better. The suggested retail price — Php23,994.
This is the very first Neo laptop I’ve reviewed here so the Edge Z3265 gave a lasting impression about the Filipino company’s future in the PC-making business. Check out the review of the Neo Edge Z3265 after the jump.
During yesterday’s announcement of the new Atom Pine Trail processors, we were able to test out a new but un-named MSI netbook. It’s now official that it was an MSI Wind U135.

So curiosity got the better of me and I bought the new MSI Wind12 U210x that day I found out about its local availability. Turns out this model is selling like hot cakes and I got the last unit of the batch.
One of my more nagging problems with a lot of locally available netbooks is the low resolution screen. While 1024 x 600 pixels is fine for regular web browsing, there are important softwares out there that require higher resolution and just wouldn’t work with most netbooks.
The very first time I opened a box of the Minix M1000 u-note, it reminded me of  the MSI Wind. Check out the full review after the jump.
PC Trends sent us two brand new netbooks today — the 10.1-inch Minix M1000 netbook powered by an Intel Atom N270. Check out the unboxing photos below.
Now this is an upgrade that I should have seen earlier. PC Corner is offering a new batch of MSI Wind U100 with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280, at a price that will certainly leave the Acer Aspire One D150 in the dust.
The Aspire One D150 is Acer’s second generation netbook, powered by the newer Atom N280 of Intel. Check out my review below and learn why Acer might have missed the boat to do a repeat success on their Acer Aspire One line.
