umobile Wireless Broadband Package

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 6, 2008

While searching for the same umobile connection problems online, I bumped into this interesting discovery -- the uMobile Wireless Broadband Package. Wow, I didn't know umobile was already offering something similar to SmartBro Plugit! For only around Php1,050 a month (plus initial deposit of Php675), you get unlimited HSDPA/3G connection from umobile. They even got the same 3G dongle from ZTE. Oh, wait. I forgot to mention this is for umobile Malaysia. But still, they've got an intriguing offer -- unlimited mobile 3G for cheap! {via}

Just finished talking to two more Co-Presentors of the Philippine Blog Awards '07 -- Ikobo and Nestlé Philippines. Ikobo is an international money transfer service and they're also an advertiser here at Yugatech. Though they don't have a local office here, I've been chatting with their marketing manager in the US to help them get acquainted with the local blogosphere and establish their brand/presence. Nestlé Philippines is the more surprising sponsor of this event and during our meeting at their office, they relayed to me their interest in getting to know the local new media industry. In fact, I got…

Shopping at Amazon from the Philippines

Relevance: 65%      Posted on: April 10, 2006

An old high school friend sent me a text message asking if I had any experience with shopping at Amazon and how to go about it when you want the goods delivered into the country. I actully don't have any Amazon-shopping experience so I can't help him either. I have a $200 gift certificate there hanging around and waiting but from what I've read on their site, Amazon doesn't deliver in Asia (except for books). I thought the only way around it is to have the package shipped to a friend or relative in the US then have them send…

I’m in the Publishing Business

J Angelo wrote at the Blog Herald that he's had a hard time explaining what he does for a living. To most people that he talks to, blogging or problogging isn't even a career or is still nowhere near a form of livelihood. As for me, I'd always explain it in really simple terms that 99% of the people I talk to can understand -- I'm in the Publishing business. Here's why: Think of me as a one-man newspaper. When I did a talk over at Nestle Philippines, I explained that as a problogger, there's not much difference between me…
