This may come as a surprise but local online game companies Level Up! and E-Games has finalized talks of a merger. eGames made the disclosure earlier this morning at the PSE (since it’s a publicly listed company).

Facebook Credits to be sold in Retail Stores

Friendster’s new owner, MOL, is helping Facebook sell FB Credits in Asia, including the Philippines. That means you should be able to buy Facebook Credits at a number of outlets, including 7-11 Stores, nationwide.

Nokia closes Mosh to concetrate on Ovi

News of Nokia shutting down their Mosh social networking site has been spreading was a surprise to me. They’ve been pushing their online presence for a couple of years now so it doesn’t make sense to shut down a web service.

3G vs. HSDPA: Does speed matter?

3G or HSDPA — most mobile users would not mind the difference these two have when it comes to connecting via mobile 3G internet. This is mainly because most people think 3G in the Philippines is slow anyway. I looked into this to see if the difference between 3G and HSDPA speeds really matter.

Alexa announces new Web Rankings

Alexa just announced they’ve changed to a new algorithm in computing the web rankings. Previously, Alexa only relies on its toolbar to gather site usage data to perform web rankings. They’ve added more sources now to improve the metrics but have not revealed what these are.
