Nokia N97 Pre-Order, Php40K Price Tag?

Relevance: 79%      Posted on: June 4, 2009

The Nokia N97 is coming out this June and you have the chance to pre-order this smartphone today and get it on launch day. What's conspicuously missing in the pre-order page here is the suggested retail price. If we follow the earlier announced price in Europe of €550, it may end up somewhere in the Php40k range after tariffs and VAT. Considering that the Nokia N96 had an SRP of Php37,850 (on its first release in the Philippines) and the Nokia E90 costs about Php35,500, that figure isn't far off. Any takers?

According to a report, Nokia is said to be working on a 10-inch tablet running Windows RT. On the other hand, sources also indicate that the company will be skipping CES for MWC. The tablet was planned earlier this year with a Snapdragon S4 processor, but the focus on the production was stopped upon the announcement of the Microsoft Surface. If the reports are true, then the supposed tablet is now back in development and is about to be seen this upcoming February 25-28. Let's not forget that the Nokia PureView 808 was announced back in MWC last year, and…

Why Nokia isn’t making a tablet, yet.

Relevance: 71%      Posted on: October 2, 2011

In these times when every other handset and PC manufacturer are bringing out their very own tablets, it's a wonder why Nokia has not made one until now. Even smaller players have had some success (like Archos) in this market, so why not Nokia? Nokia isn't a total virgin in the PC market. In fact they made their very first netbook back in 2010 (see our Nokia Booklet 3G Review). Unfortunately, that did not pan out well for the Finnish company -- mainly because the unit costs an arm and a leg back then. It didn't even arrive in the

Just got the new Nokia E71 business phone and I've been testing it for a couple of days now. Haven't finished yet but so far, everything's positive from the usability end. For the meantime, check out the pics and price list below after the break. Announced in early June 2008, the Nokia E71 is the QWERTY version of the Nokia E51. Click on the thumbnails for larger images. Survey of prices range from Php21,200 to Php24,990 but I've seen one store that sells it for Php37,000!
