Nokia is serious with its push to be make Ovi Maps and their GPS-enabled handsets to be the center-piece of our private cars. This is why they will start shipping selected units of their mobile phones with a free car charger and holder.
When Nokia announced back in January that it will make Ovi Maps with Turn-by-Turn Navigation free for its customers, I was a bit disappointed by the limited number of handsets that they supported.
Nokia has just announced it is now offering Ovi Maps with turn-by-turn navigation to all users globally. Best of all, it’s also available for the Philippines for free.

As speculated last May, Nokia announced a cheaper version of their popular Nokia 5800XM this week — the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is now much cheaper by shedding off some key features.
With the release of Nokia’s 1st-generation touchscreen phone last January, it will not be a surprise if the Finnish company will follow it through with another low-end version of the 5800 XPressMusic. Next month, Nokia might unveil a much cheaper 5530 XPressMusic named Kenzo.

I’ve already been getting emails and comments from readers on how to get the latest firmware update for their Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. Unfortunately, the announcement yesterday by Nokia does not include handsets released in the Philippines.
Almost all of the earlier XpressMusic phones from Nokia (except the 5800) were just made for better music playback and nothing more. The Nokia 5630 changes all that and promises to be an NGage gaming unit as well.
