The recent report of Chile implementing the mandatory unlocking of all phones that are sold in the country this month got me thinking if this is possible in the Philippines. Of course it’s possible but I doubt it will be happening anytime soon.

Nokia N9 now shipping, price starts at Php28.5k

Nokia has just posted a press release stating that the Meego-powered Nokia N9 has started shipping to stores and customers who pre-ordered it. While the shipments does not yet include the Philippines, we’re hoping it will be a matter of weeks (if not a month) before we’d see the N9 hitting local stores.

Nokia N9 Video Teaser Ad

This latest teaser video of the supposed Nokia N9 (or Nokia N950) gives us a better look at the upcoming Meego device Nokia is preparing to launch. Looking very similar to the Nokia E7, the N9 could very well be the successor to the Meego-powered Nokia N900 (and thus a possible N950 label).
