Ozaki intros WoW 2.2 Dual Bass Speakers

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: November 17, 2008

During a press launch this afternoon, Taiwanese-based company Ozaki introduced the first dual bass speaker system in the Philippines. Their claim -- 2 subwoofers are better than one. Not to be mistaken as the videoke brand, Ozaki's WoW 2.2 or "Woofer of Woofer" consists of the left and right sound channel satellite speakers and the double power subwoofer (one sub has two bass drivers). There were several other speakers in the line-up but these were the ones that got my attention. The WoW series speaker are mostly made out of wood for better sound quality and are rated between 40…

The “Ozaki Nuke 28” Review

Relevance: 59%      Posted on: June 7, 2005

After installing the new WP-ShortStat plugin, I noticed several Google search results pointing back to my blog about an item in my Digital Wish List, the Ozaki Nuke28. I thought I'd share my first hand experience with everyone about it. Well, after weeks of searching for the 5.1 speakers, I finally found a set on stock at Villman, Makati Cinema Square. I asked the technician to open the box and test the speakers for me so I can check it for audio quality. The technician hesitated, asking if I were to buy it before he opens the box, but I…

iPill: the iPod Mic

Relevance: 48%      Posted on: July 28, 2009

Not sure if I've seen this before but Ozaki is shipping a ton of these iPills to the Philippines this August. The iPill is a microphone accessory for the iPod Nano (4th Gen) and the iPod Touch (2nd Gen). It has a capsule-like shape, with one half is the protective cover and the other half is the 3.5mm jack. Ozaki promises better audio recording quality but that remains to be seen. They don't have SRP yet (will update when these arrives in August).

We have had talks and correspondences about this event for months now. iBlog is a project steered by U.P. Law Internet & Society Program and will be held at UP NISMED, UP Campus on May 7, 2005. This is a good way to meet and greet fellow Pinoy Bloggers and see the faces behind their blogs. There will also be demos on blogging basics, moblogging, podcasting, etc. Details are posted on the iBlog website but it was down when I visited it. This is technically a first here in the Philippines and was patterened from BlogCons in the US. Blog…

1st Phil. Blogging Summit

Relevance: 32%      Posted on: May 6, 2005

Tomorrow is the day every pinoy blogger (and would-be bloggers) have been waiting for -- the 1st Philippine Blogging Summit. I will be there as a speaker and will discuss about the basics of blogging and some other interesting topics. About 300 people have signed up for this event and I believe this is the biggest gathering so far in the pinoy blogging community. Likewise, I will be meeting a lot of people whom I've known in the blogosphere but have not had a chance to meet face to face - Prem, Markku, JonLao, Rain, Tala, Ederic, Carlos, Mickey, and…

Phil. Gov’t pressures Facebook over Fans?

Relevance: 32%      Posted on: November 15, 2010

There was a story in the Guardian UK that claims the Philippine's is becoming like China in web censorship and I agreed to do an interview for an article as a rebuttal saying that the Philippines is among the most liberal in terms of general internet activity and social media and that there has been no cases of the government using its power & influence to pressure sites like YouTube, Facebook and the likes to its advantage. Not until this month when the original FB Fan Page of Pres. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino ( was shut down by Facebook, allegedly under…

Relevance: 32%      Posted on: July 27, 2006

I blogged about this exactly a year ago - The PWA should have a Blog Category. So looked at what dropped in my Inbox: With a few months to go before it unveils the 9th edition of its annual Philippine Web Awards (Philippine Webbies), event organizer Media G8way Corporation (MGC) has already bared that one of the many changes it is implementing in this nearly a decade-old event is the inclusion of a “Blogs” category. The "Blogs" category has been added to honor the best Weblog or online journal made by a Filipino/Filipina or a group where the majority of…
