WOW Gold for Sale

It is not uncommon for fanatic World of Warcraft players to buy virtual items such as WOW gold, artifacts and other stuff with real dollars just to boost their character. Advanced players make a killing by selling their characters once they’ve gone up 50 levels or higher with prices that sometimes could reach up to $3,000 or more. One could really make a killing out of this. (Take for example the contextual ads found on this page. They’re all full of golds for sale.) Talk about WOW farming.

But a hobby that has apparently become a sideline could very well be an enterprise in itself. Reports of a company in Cebu that’s recruiting locals to play MMOG for a fee has been going around blogs like the PTB and Max Limpag.

These professional gamers for hire are tasked to build characters or acquire items and then are sold to other gamers in the west. A lucrative business indeed. They’re apparently paying Php10,000 per player per month. That’s enough playing hours to build a good character or acquire enough items that could fetch as much as $2,000 or more.

Blizzard categorically states that this is not allowed but whoever said one can’t do it anyway? It’s an ethical question with online gaming but with real-world implications. *kaching!*
