Google defines Adult Content for AdSense

Relevance: 64%      Posted on: November 28, 2007

While it's fairly easy for Google AdSense bot to identify pages for blacklisted words (Stop Words), it's much harder to figure out if the contents are all made up of images or photos. This is particularly true for questionable content such as adult or mature materials. The Inside Google Blog has somewhat defined what is adult or mature content. Our policy regarding adult or mature content may include any material that is not appropriate for all audiences. While this obviously includes full nudity or sexual activity, it may also include textually explicit sexual content, image or video content containing lewd…

Payment Solutions for the Online Pinoy

From my latest post at PTB -- Revisiting Philippine Online Payment Services, most of which I haven't heard of nor tried. Is Philippine e-commerce still suffering from quashiorkor? I hope m-commerce takes the big leap with Globe's G-Cash leading the pack. Also, Meralco's e-Bill is the kind of service local cooporations should be providing for its consumer/subscribers. It's not much now, but at least it's there for those who might need it -- like me. Organizing an Online Media for Philippine Blogs

Relevance: 59%      Posted on: August 10, 2006

Just finished a meeting with the people at K2 Interactive this afternoon and they consulted with me a plan to organize an ad network for Filipino blogs. K2 is a communications agency based in Ortigas and a top notch solutions provider with clients like Ayala, Glaxo-Smith Kline, SM Prime Holdings, HSBC, Jollibee, MTV Philippines, Mead Johnson and Unilever. I believe they are in the best position to represent the the top Filipino blogs in the market since they already have the connections and the experience in traditional media advertising. When I started out Pinoy Top Blogs a year ago, one…

US Congress Bans Online Poker

Relevance: 57%      Posted on: October 3, 2006

From ABC News -- online gaming firms faced their biggest-ever crisis on Monday after U.S. Congress passed legislation to end Internet gaming there, threatening jobs and wiping 3.5 billion pounds ($6.5 billion) off share prices. For the past couple of months, I've been getting calls from companies in China ordering over a dozen dedicated servers for online gambling use. They stress that the servers must be in the Philippines and not the US. I'm not really familiar with US laws regarding this issue and I wasn't comfortable with the setup. Along with hosting adult content, online gambling is also a…

Relevance: 50%      Posted on: December 27, 2005

Connie & I have been contemplating on something like a blog awards over at PinoyBlog for months now but we don't want anymore of those popularity contests. What I had in mind was some sort of Movers & Shakers of 2005, much like what ITNetCentral did a few years back during the years. It's not too late yet though but I'd like to throw out some questions and suggestions on how to go about it. Who are the bloggers or blog that influenced you the most? Which Filipino personalities/bloggers heavily contributed to the Philippine blogosphere? Which bloggers or blogs…

WalterMart Free WiFi and Movie Tickets

Relevance: 50%      Posted on: March 23, 2009

The WalterMart at Pasong Tamo corner Pasay road is one of my hang-out places (the Starbucks shop at the ground floor being my part-time office and business meeting place). It all started when I discovered they had free wifi years back (aptly named linksys). The management has re-introduced that service and now offers free wifi to mallers; and as a bonus, free movie tickets too. So I'm giving away movie passes to any movie shown in WalterMart Cinemas from today 'til April. Here's a simple way to get a chance to have these free tickets delivered to your home: Answer…
