PLDT upgrades myDSL Plan 3000 to 5Mbps

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: June 13, 2011

Good news to all PLDT myDSL subscribers on Plan 3000 -- bandwidth upgrades have been rolling to all subs as early as first week of this month. The plan was bumped up from 3Mbps to 5Mbps. Subscribers are getting offers of the free upgrade as long as they continue their subscriptions and lock it for another year. So far, only the Plan 3000 are being offered the upgrades while the lower tiers have not been extended the same. This move might have been prompted by the recent offerings of other competing ISPs that offer 3Mbps and 5Mbps at prices between…

PLDT myDSL DNS Problems

Relevance: 85%      Posted on: October 16, 2006

For several days now, we've been experiencing some erratic and widespread DNS problems with PLDT myDSL. I think Smart 3G/GPRS is also affected with it, although my Smart Bro is working fine. We've also received numerous reports of the same -- random sites not showing up or loading. The issue has been reported to PLDT Customer Support and though they're not confirming the problems, all efforts to correct the problem failed. So, until now, PLDT hasn't resolve the issue and we get all of the heat from hosting clients. Anybody else experiencing similar problems with their DSL providers?

PLDT now offers 10Mbps DSL plan for Php4,000

Relevance: 85%      Posted on: November 7, 2011

In a TV commercial aired last Saturday, PLDT introduced a new DSL plan which offers up to 10Mbps for just Php4,000. That makes it the top broadband offering under the myDSL service line-up (PLDT MyDSL Plan 4000). Prior to this, they have a Plan Xcel 3000 at 5Mbps. The Plan Xtreme 4000 doubles that speed up to 10Mbps. The plan is not yet up on their website but a release sent to us this evening shows the new one. Take note though that this is for residential line and it's not really a guaranteed speed. My 2Mbps Plan 1995 only…

PLDT myDSL Upgrades anew

Relevance: 77%      Posted on: August 9, 2006

This is probably the second time PLDT myDSL upgraded their bandwidth offerings this year. Just saw an ad at Manila Bulletin that their newly re-branded residential DSL packages are getting a bit of a boost. Here are the new bandwidth speeds: myDSL Xperience Php 999/month from 384Kbps to 512 Kbps myDSL Xcite Php 1,995/month from 768 Kbps to 1.2Mbps myDSL Xcel Php 3,000/month from 2Mbps to 3 Mbps Must be real tough competition going on we don't know about. Heard that PLDT had a 7% drop in profits compared to last years. But just how much of their revenues are…

PLDT DSL, PLDT DSL, PLDT myDSL, PLDT DSL, PLDT myDSL Looks like the stories are true. I just checked my PLDT DSL speed at home last night and I was averaging around 480Kbps. That means my previous 386Kbps connection now tops at 512Kbps. Here's the supposed upgrade that was recently made by PLDT. 512Kbps / 256Kbps for plan 1995 768Kbps / 384Kbps for plan 2500 1mbps / 384Kbps for plan 3000 You can call them up at 171 to confirm this. Sweet deal, huh? :)

Has your PLDT myDSL slowed to a crawl?

Relevance: 74%      Posted on: April 22, 2009

For the last couple of weeks, my PLDT DSL connection at home has crawled to a turtle's pace. I don't often get this type of problems in the last 4.5 years but this time, it took longer than one would expect. I know how the infrastructure/network works and I'm usually very patient with these types of issues that's why it took me several weeks to realize this could be permanent and I'm doomed to settle for dial-up speeds. Just look at my SpeedTest results below: Anybody else experiencing the same problems lately? At first, I thought it could be several…

Anyone else running PLDT WatchPad?

Relevance: 71%      Posted on: November 6, 2009

I got this DVD installer in the mail last week for PLDT WatchPad. Been seeing the ads as well on TV lately and was wondering if this is a free or paid service from PLDT to all its myDSL subscribers. Are there other PLDT myDSL subscribers getting their DVD installers in the mail too? I read that this is available if you subscribe to myDSL Plan 999, 1995 and 3000. This is streaming video so only makes sense for PLDT to offer it to high-bandwidth plans. Available channels include PBO, CNBC, MTV, GO, Animax, CNN, GMA7, Cartoon Network and National…

Along with the upgrades that I just discovered, PLDT also rebranded their residential broadband packages: So, they did deliver on the promise they made earlier this year, though it took them 4 months to do so. The new packages are as follows: PLDT myDSL Xperience : 384 Kbps at Php 999/month PLDT myDSL Xcite : 768 Kbps at Php 1,995/month PLDT myDSL Xcel : 2 Mbps at Php 3,000/month PLDT myDSL F2H : 5 Mbps at Php 5,000/month The PLDT myDSL F2H may soon be available in areas of Ayala Alabang, Forbes Park, Essensa and Dasmarinas Village due to some…

New round of DSL speed increase for PLDT myDSL

Relevance: 69%      Posted on: July 19, 2007

We were discussing about broadband connectivities over at Rico's blog where he's recommending ETPI's 5Mbps package for Php35,000 a month. I haven't tried Eastern Telecoms ever so I cannot attest to their connection uptime and reliability but have heard so many complaints about their residential offerings, dubbed evoDSL. And while I suggested getting 2 separate DSL providers and using a D-Link Load-Balancing Router to hook them both up, I also discovered PLDT has published newer bandwidth caps for its residential plans. Same price points but increased bandwidths: Package Type * Speed * Monthly Service Fee (Pesos) Xperience * up to…
